So does anyone else think that Donald, Goofy, or both will be one of the lights?

 

I mean after what they did, I hope they have some TRUE important role instead of being the mailmen and sidekicks. The ending of KH3D when Goofy asks Donald if they will ever get to do something important, that got me thinking.

 

And also this will be WAY more surprising than Roxas being one. Unless it's a character that wasn't shown in the series or one of the other Disney characters, then the surprise won't be a surprise to me.

 

What input you have on this?

I don't really know about this. But I do doubt they will make one of them one of the lights and not the other.

I was just responding to OP saying that they're enough important already

That's just a set up for them to regain their confidence and whatever and for Sora to say to them "Hey,no sad faces...Put a smile in your face" like Donald and Goofy said to Sora in KH1

It is a possibility. Nomura did say anyone could be a light. Plus it would be a lot cooler than having a bunch of keyblade wielders.

That would be terrible if one was light and the other wasn't, but would be even more unsuspected (and terrible).

There's no telling one way or the other but I actually like the idea.  When you think about it, out of all of Sora's buddies, Donald and Goofy have been with him for about 80 percent of Sora's journey so far.  If they don't have anything to show for it, it'd be disappointing.

I never understood why Goofy asked that I mean, only like half an hour earlier in the game the two of them technically defeated Guardian, thus saving Lea, Riku, Mickey, and Sora's lives- HELLO! Saving 4 main characters and defeating the embodiment of darkness that defeated Roxas and that Aqua, Sora, and Riku struggled against throughout the series simply by falling on it is KINDA important in my opinion

Yes they are FFS they're Mickey's Guards and they had more of a role then most of the KH Characters

They're bigger then anyone in that list you mentioned excpet Sora,Riku and Mickey

Companions of Sora? Kairi would love to be Sora's Companion but she's stuck on DI...infact only companions Sora has besides Goofy and Donald is when he goes to different worlds

Goofy and Donald being Sora's Companions IS Why they are SO IMPORTANT.Plus think about it...if Sora didn't get to meet Donald and Goofy who knows what would happen to him

Goofy saying that is most probably a Set-up in the story...think about it...there were times when Sora felt hopeless too...and Donald and Goofy(or Riku and Mickey) were there for him...now Sora will be there for Goofy and Donald

Goofy said that cuz he's afraid now that Sora is growing up he will forget about him and Donald(It's very similar to the story in "A Goofy Movie" you know when Max grows up and stuff(btw I hope Max appears in KH3 ))...but he will most likely be wrong by the time KH3 comes out   B)

It'll be better for Kairi to learn how to fight than to have her stay home and possibly get kidnapped...again. Besides if she master's the Keyblade as well as her powers she could be a threat...maybe even push the 13 darknesses away with her powers of light like how the 6 princess in KH I kept the Darkness from the DOD at bay.

Goofy and Donald are strong. They found Sora and helped him defeat Guard Armor when he was too weak to take it on alone, saved Sora from Riku in Kingdom Hearts, saved him again and Namine from Larxene after he treated them and Jiminy so poorly, and were almost always with Sora. Have you ever used Donald's Comet in KH2? That is pretty powerful and looks powerful as well. Usually take out a room full of Nobodies with that. Also if they weren't there to save him all those times, story-wise he would have been defeated. So no. They are powerful. And how is Kairi more worthy of being Guardians of Light than Donald and Goofy?

They are not dispensable story-wise and would anger me and some other people if they got rid of them in the numbered titles. It won't feel right if they are gone.
