Who is most likely to be gone for good?

Posted

I have a strong suspicion that at least one of the original protagonists of the Kingdom Hearts series will be gone by the end of Kingdom Hearts III.

I believe that the person who is most likely to disappear will be Terra, because, as well as the fact that his current location has yet to be revealed, he will probably want to die to protect the Realm of Light; as an apology to everyone for being a major part of why everything that Xehanort has done has occurred.

Riku seems to be another likely candidate. He knows that it is his duty to protect the Realm of Light, and I have a feeling that he will do something major that involves his sacrifice to keep the Realm of Light safe. I suppose that it would effectively kill Sora on the inside, but it would be interesting to watch.

The protagonist who I believe to be the least likely of the first three to die by the end of Kingdom Hearts III is Lea. I imagine that he would die doing something to protect Roxas and Xion (who are definitely going to return), or maybe even trying to rid Saix of his status as one of Xehanort's vessels.

Ansem the Wise seems to be another protagonist who is likely to disappear. As for the others on the list, I do not have much of a reason to suspect that any of them could potentially disappear.

Sora is definitely not going to die, because the creator has stated that the series is about Sora, and that when Sora's story ends, the series will end as well. Because it has been decided that Kingdom Hearts III is not the last entry in the Kingdom Hearts series, he will definitely not be gone for good at any point in Kingdom Hearts III. I think that a "false death" would be nice, though...

Please note that I am well aware that permanent death is seemingly impossible in the Kingdom Hearts series, with the fact that memories are immortal being a part of this.

None of the above. No one will be gone for good except for the Organization, in the end. This being the end of the Xehanort saga, it will get rid of Xehanort and his lackeys for good. Roxas and Xion and Ansem and Terra are probably going to be restored as the credits roll.

I'm wishing for Kairi to die, imagine the plot twist.

Javelin is not going to be happy if he sees that.

I highly doubt that that will ever happen.

Roxas and Xion are probably going to be restored some time in the middle of the game, I suspect.

Ansem the Wise does not need to be restored, unless you are referring to his memories. He is simply trapped in the Realm of Darkness with Aqua.

I will honestly be disappointed if not at least one of them is gone by the end of it. It would be harder for me to take the series seriously.

As I said, though, I would be okay with an emotional "false death" of Sora.

I meant Roxas Xion and Terra more then I did Ansem. He just happened to be there.

Xehanort.

Xehanort.

It said "protagonists"...

It said "protagonists"...

Face facts. It is nigh impossible that a protagonist is going to be gone for good.

There isn't any concept of death anyway, according to Nomura. Then again I may have misread it...

Anywho, IDK, I was thinking... hm. I got nothing. Maybe Ansem if Christopher Lee doesn't come back.

Quoted for truth, heck Xehanort might not be gone for good by the end of the series...This IS Kingdom Hearts, and after he "See's what lies beyond the Keyblade War" (their big battle between light and darkness), he may turn back to the neutrality position he was in for all those years...

Hm Aqua or Terra.

I have a theory that Terranort will kill Aqua.

Ventus say then to look deep inside him.

Or Terra would see by him self when he kills her.

If any of the protagonists are going to die, i think it will be Terra. He is the one who has suffered the most because of Xehanort and also the one who has indirectly caused most of the bad things to happen in the series. He bestowed the ability to wield a keyblade to Riku and made him want to seek out other worlds. Had that not happened Riku would have never seen the keyhole to Destiny Islands and opened it up to darkness and who knows how Ansem's plan would have played out. You can even argue that he is more a part of Xemnas than Xehanort is.

If he were to die though it would be in a majorly heroic sacrifice that would probably put an end to Xehanort for good. His redemption for succumbing to darkness and letting Xehanort in. Even still, I don't think it's very likely to happen.

Xehanort's the one tryin to do something, and Sora and co. are trying to stop him.So that would make Xehanort the protagonist and Sora the antagonist. If you look at it that way.

Terra. But he has to go down a badass way!

I'm going with Lea.

Terra or kairi

But there's a good chance that it may be terra. I mean, just look!!!

His heart is everywhere.

And xehanort had control over him all that time so it may be terra.

If kairi dies that would be an interesting plot twist.

It makes no sense for Terra to "completely be gone" in KH3.  First of all he is "gone" right now so I really doubt that se would bring him back to help/reunite with his friends just to kill him off.  If anything it would completely be in Riku's nature (you could probably say this for most of the characters but Riku to me seems the most likely) to sacrifice himself to save his friends. Cmon guys put some thought into it

Just wanted to say that i really don't think Riku well die and or disappear from anywhere, ([spoiler][/spoileralert for those who havent played 3d) because he is the keyblade master im sure they won"t just make him the keyblade master and then just take him out in the next game coming. im sure as hell that aqua is coming back from the relm of darkness because how did riku and sora make it out and aqua who was already a keyblade master not.....it would be a nice plot to have seen her be the one who made riku and keyblade master as i thought was gonna happen because i thought only a keyblade master can hold the mastery exams but yea thats all i wanted to say lol xP

I agree with almost everything except about Roxas and Xion.

Do not be so sure. What reasons do you have to believe that?

I already said that there is no real concept of death in Kingdom Hearts.

I thought that Ansem had a different voice actor now. Regardless, I highly doubt that Ansem losing his voice actor would make the series dispose of him.

That is not the standpoint that is being taken here.

Well... Kairi possibly becoming like Aerith/Aeris from FF7 isn't entirely out of the question. I hope it doesn't happen, but with the most vocal of the fandom wanting her gone...

I think that it would be unfair for her to go. It seems that her time to shine has finally arrived, so I hope that the time is well-spent.
