So... Geppetto designed the train? Does this mean he designed the boat as well?

Okay guys, don't blow this out of proportion.

 

This was in the original KH, and it's a train with lights. At the very most, it is a reference to the Electric Light Parade... this game came out over 11 years ago... there is no possible way that it was a hint 'hey guys this is going to be a summon in kingdom hearts IiI I have the most planning skillz ever'. No. Just no. It happens to be something that was in KH1, and that eventually made it's way into KH3.

 

So to be clear: It doesn't say that Gepetto made it. It doesn't say that "NOMURA KNEW HE WAS GONNA DO IT". It says "hey this thing that got referenced in KH1 made its way into KH3, that's kind of cool and slightly interesting."

I think that Nomura wanted to include the disney rides in KH games but wasn't able to do that in the previous main console games and is finally able to in KH3

I'm just assuming he likes the light parade. So he made a reference before and now he's like "hey. i can do something with the light parade now".

and here I was thinking it was a reference to the train in twilight town

Nomura is a Xehanort vessel, therefore he can travel to any time period, and so, he put the train in KH1 then went 11 years into the future and decided to showcase it in KH3 as a possible summon, and he kept it quiet so that no one would suspect of his Nomuranort plan!  He is the 13th vessel!  Very cool observation.
