The character designer for FINAL FANTASY XII, FINAL FANTASY XIV and FINAL FANTASY Tactics has left Square Enix.

Thanks to @aibo_ac7 .

Well we still have Tetsuya Nomura. And as long as he's directing or at least character designing my favourite games, I'm happy.

We still have Yoshitaka Amano as well.

Well, he didn't work on any of the Kingdom Hearts games, so I don't see this as a huge loss. Sucks for the Final Fantasy part of Square, though, I guess.

Lol. You do forget FINAL FANTASY is Square Enix's biggest and most important franchise. Nomura might be asked to character design for even more games now.

Shit. That's a good point. I feel like KHIII is doomed to be a disaster, just by fate. The universe itself wants it to suck for some reason.

* Loved Final Fantasy Tactics *

uh oh, better hire more character designers. SE is gonna be looking at Nomura and force him to work on other games, and KH3 will be pushed to 2020 and FFXV will release on 2016.

At this rate they might release FINAL FANTASY XV in 2016. I'm still tipping 2015 but 2014 was just completely ruled out by the fact it didn't appear with anything new at TGS or at Jump Festa at all.

yeah, seeing that it will have a high chance of showing up in E3 2014, the game would be released either 2015 or 2016, then KH3 will come out 1-3 years later.

Nooooo. That's a big shame  All well. I suppose we will have to be even more patient. We just have to think positive and KHIII will come out soon. Positive thinking is a key :)

You guys Yoshitaka Amano could do character design too remember?

He's a loss because so many talented developersdesigners left Square Enix.

The only thing holding this company is Tetsuya Nomura, who in my opinion,is the only one at Square who knows the meaning of " a good game"

Everyone forgot about Amano huh?

  • 2 weeks later...

Too bad that he left, he made a great job in designing the characters :( I actually wonder about his leaving all of a sudden...

Is it wrong that I'm not heartbroken. If he designed characters for XII and XIV and such then he's responsible for some of the least impressive designs out of all the Fantasies, in my opinion...
