People think that Aerith's Death in FFVII is one of the saddest moments in video game's history.......pfffffffffffffffft yeah right

 

Let me show you the moment in the Final Fantasy franchise that made me cry

Zack's death oh my god Zack's Death.

 

Sure we all know his fate when we played FFVII,but that didn't stop the awesome story-telling of Crisis Core FFVII from making me care so much about the true Soldier 1st Class Zack Fair

 

Zack is my favorite FFVII character and he's on my top 3 favorite characters alongside Cecil and Zidane

 

This guy is THE TRUE HERO OF FFVII

 

Without Zack,Cloud would've never been alive to fight Sephiroth....hell if you remember,Cloud's fake memory of being in SOLDIER came from Zack due to the (correct me if I'm wrong) Mako energy and his connection with Zack

 

Zack in my eyes is one of the greatest video game protagonist and for me he'll be always the true hero of both Crisis Core and FFVII

 

And Crisis Core will still remain my favorite PSP game of all time and the ultimate reason why I love the PSP so much

The only video game scene to have not only made me cry, but made me a bit depressed afterwards.

I never even liked Aerith anyway, her death was pretty much nothing. Zack though... Only time I ever cried while playing a game.

Honestly, I was still too wrapped up in the badassness that he just took on entire army to really feel much for his death. And even so, death in a fiction just never hits me hard. Too over dramatic and whatnot. It's the littler, more downplayed things like Aerith never knowing what became of her love but constantly sending him letters for FOUR years not sure if he's left her for someone better or even alive then eventually just giving up that make me sad.  

 

The only death that's ever made me feel something (had to fight back the tears for almost an hour) was one that happened off screen and is only ever mentioned one more time, indirectly at that. The director really knew what he was doing there, ***damn.

seriously, that was the only game that freaking made me bawled. I never cried that hard in my lifetime. I was lucky I was home alone when this happened.

To make matters worse, I'm still replaying the game!

I agree with every thing you said Metal Snake. A game like this will never be forgotten no matter what.These kind of games are the ones who deserve to be called a Legendary Games also a legendary story... I miss this game so much and I miss Zack Fair too and I will be one of the people who will return to play this game from time to time.
