Would it be conducive to marry the person who loves us the most?

Posted

What if we married the person who loves us(romantical love of course)  most instead of the person we love? Do you think that would be able to work out, or would it end up with a lot of broken hearts? And if this happens, how do we decide which person marries who? For example:

Say Person 1 loves Person 2 more than anyone else who loves Person 2 in the whole world.

But person 2 loves Person 3 more than anyone else who loves Person 3 in the whole world.

So does Person 1 get to be with Person 2, or does Person 2 get to be with Person 3?

Perhaps it could go that we could be with the person who loves us most and best the way we want to be loved.

Like if someone told me they loved me more than anyone else, and I already loved someone else, I would probably think Id be happier with the person who I loved, and not the person who loves me.

But WOULD I be happier if I went with that person?

I was just wondering if what would happen if we set up marriage like this xD Sometimes I wonder about these kinds of things.

Go ahead and wonder what it is Im babbling about or attempt to answer the question. Lol.

(And if youre wondering, I thought about this post before the whole I love Kingdom Hearts status thing) so dont think Im trying to bring that up again xD

I never really understood the whole love thing, but I think I understand more or less of what you're saying.

just so long as it's not Megaman X

Dont you even bring that stuff in here xD

The three of them go to some strange outlawed part of the world, and get married together, thus making a three way marraige.

Fool. It would change absolutely nothing if you think about it.

Can you explain how it changes absolutely nothing please?

I did actually. Couldnt understand where you left it. In my defense the answer was incredibly vague, except for the fact that it would change "nothing". How does it change nothing? And how do we know that it changes nothing? By what standards are we comparing the change to?

So, here's the original situation. Person A marries the person they love the most. You want to change it to Person A marrying the person who loves them the most. This implies that Person A marrying the person they love most isn't the person that loves them the most. So let's say Person B loves Person A the most, so they get married. That means Person B maried the person they love most and not the person that loved them the most. So it's exactly the same situation we started with.

MY PERSONAL BIASED VIEW:

Love is meaningless if it's not shared between two people.

Marrying someone who doesn't love you's dumb.

Unless you're a jerk butt who only takes advantage of those people, I think it'd be fine. You might grow to love that person.

That actually makes sense.

Yeah i can agree with you, but it might also be considered someones extremely devoted if they will marry someone who doesnt love them. the whole "you can love me in time" thing.

It kind of takes some devotion, and brings a new meaning to "i will be with you, whatever it takes" and all.

I'd rather not get married in that case.

lol youd rather be with the person you love instead of who loves you?

Well how about this, lets all just try extremely hard to love the person were married to the most, and then all of this will be solved xD

Everyone would be marrying their mums, it would just be weird.

I think it would be unfair to get involved with someone who cares so much about you when you don't return those feelings.  That's not love.  That's pity, and it'll end bad and just be a mediocre life.

Yeah I can agree with that.

Also, you're making this claim as though it were a silly love train. What if the person you love and the person who loves you are one and the same?

I was trying to imply that in my reply to Lala somewhere up there xD

and yeah all of this is purely hypothetical, thats why Im making the claim with conflict. If it was that situation youre talking about, there would be absolutely no question, and therefore no topic. Yeah....

Don't worry, he's already married.
