Well yeah, they usually do release two versions and that's okay as long as they cover Emerald in them and actually do remake them.

February 11, 201412 yr I would definitely like to see a Gen III remake. Seeing all of Hoenn in beautiful 3D would be amazing, and it'd be a nice way to get new players into old generations, much like the Gen I and II remakes. However, the chances of a Gen III remake are actually substantially lower, particularly because Gen I and II were originally remade because, without the remakes, the Pokedex would literally be impossible to complete. You can still transfer your Pokemon all the way from Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, just by making your way up generations. Nonetheless, we can probably expect a Gen III remake at some point. Maybe not in 2014, but definitely sometime in the future.

It doesn't indicate much of a sign. If people looked at previous gens, since DP (not sure about RS so well start on DP), Pokemon has been giving it more than a year's gap whenever they introduce a new gen game, remakes or not. Before anyone mentions the artifact from an unknown region, yeah unknown region not named Hoenn. So that's no hint. I wish it was hinting at a Coloseum remake. Hmm, well, the 10th Year Anniversary for Emerald in Europe is 2015... So there's still hope! They could announce the game on the Japanese 10th Anniversary and release it next year in time for Europe/NA's 10th Anniversary.
February 11, 201412 yr Well, there's going to by another entry in Gen VI, but if you look at the time line, we are due for Gen III remake. The remakes seem to happen three hand-held generations after the original, and here we are 3 gens after the GBA Edited February 11, 201412 yr by Isamu_Kuno
February 12, 201412 yr We won't get it this year, Pokemon X and Y are still relatively new, the soonest we will get this remake will be in 2015. If anything Gamefreak might hint at the remake this year and then next year we will hopefully get RS. Alot of you forget that when Ruby and Sapphire first came out, a year later Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green came out, and then the next year Pokemon Emerald came out. So maybe they will do it again? Get Pokemon Sapphire and Ruby next year, and then in 2016 we will see the updated version of X and Y.

February 13, 201412 yr Aw boo, I was going to make a topic about this but I noticed that there was already a topic made here. Anyways, I would love a Gen III remake, because the Hoenn region is my favorite out of all the regions in the Pokemon games, and I find that all the designs for Gen 3 were the best. Also, since Red and Blue and Gold and Silver were remade, why not remake Ruby and Sapphire? I gotta tell you, this has been a hot topic between me and my friends in college for the past week. And if you all notice closely, Pokemon X and Y reference the Hoenn region a lot, because as you talk with various of the NPC's around the world, you see them speaking of the Hoenn region, especially one person that mentioned the hot springs. When I read hot springs, I was like: "Hey, that's a R/S/E reference!" But yeah, I really wish a remake of Gen III is made, and hopefully in the same graphical quality as presented in Pokemon X and Y!
February 13, 201412 yr Pokemon Ruby was my first Pokemon game so.. yeah I'd like a remake. Add in the Pokemon being able to follow you like in HeartGold/SoulSilver while also being in 3D like XY were then yeah I'd definitely be very excited for it. They could also add the Emerald storyline into the game as they did add the Crystal story into HG/SS. We are very much due a remake any ways.
I don't want an X & Y sequel, I want a gen III remake. Who's with me?
