Where else could Kingdom Hearts go?

Posted

I'm not entirely sure if there's already a thread for this. I've checked and couldn't find anything, so idk.

I've had this discussion before, but I figure it might make for an interesting thread. Basically, I've been thinking about if Kingdom Hearts ever decided to branch out beyond Disney into other properties and franchises, which would be the next logical step? In my opinion, Dreamworks and Nintendo would be very viable options. Both are actually inspired by Disney in a lot of ways and have a very big fanbase. I think it'd be kind of cool to see a Super Mario world in Kingdom Hearts, or Metroid, or Kirby, Shrek, Road to El Dorado, etc.

I'm not saying Kingdom Hearts HAS to or SHOULD and I'm not saying it needs to move on into series like Halo or Mass Effect. That's not the point. But if the series is to continue on past KHIII, I think it'd be interesting to see where else it could be taken within the confines of relative kid-friendliness and keeping with the spirit of the franchise. Where else could they take it?

Not the point of this thread. This is about ideas for where it could lead should it ever decide to branch out.

KH + Nintendo sounds great. Nintendo are becoming more open with licensing their IPs (eg: Hyrule Warriors), so a KH/Nintendo game is possible.

Of course, Pixar is the logical step after Disney properties for main entries. But for a Nintendo system side-story, using their IPs would be cool.

Pixar is a given considering they're already Disney. I think it's a safe bet at least one property will be in KHIII.

I would take it to Grand Theft Auto . Yes , I just said that .

Nomura did say once (I think before KHII's release) that there were talks with other companies about using their properties.

If Nintendo franchises are being used I hope for Zelda, Fire Emblem and MAYBE Pokémon under the right circumstances (With this i mean: not anime-based but game-based!). Especially Fire Emblem would be neat because it's an awesome franchise, has always a very good story and music *drools*  :3  :3  :3

And sorry to say this but Mario has in my opinion not enough plot to be a full Kingdom Hearts World, however, maybe if they are using Nintendo-Franchises Mario could be included as a mini-game.

Well i can't think of anything else that is not TOO FREAKY  :O so i will shut my mouth about those ideas for the sake of everyone  -.-

I don't think Nintendo has had an emotional effect on very people's hearts. KH touches so many people on a personal level partly because of the feeling Disney stories can give you. DISNEY MAGIC, if you will....Nintendo's biggest character's say almost nothing. For example, Link never talks, so how would that work? I for one vote that KH3 be the end before it gets out of hand, but SE likes money just like everyone else. FF is still going...we will probably never see the conclusion of KH in our lifetime. SE doesn't know how to end things. KH will probably be milked for all it's worth....

I can't say I'm really hopeful Square will treat KH with proper respect for long after 3, but you're completely wrong about Nintendo. Regardless of the fact that many of the characters don't speak or say very little, the games have a HUGE impact on people's hearts. There wouldn't be such strong fanbases for these series if there wasn't. Especially considering a lot of them are people's childhood, much like Disney.

I guess you're kinda right. I was never really a huge fan of anything Nintendo put out. Regardless, the dialogue would be extremely weak, that is undeniable. Nintendo may have had an impact on many, but it just wouldn't work in KH.

...I think it should stick to the disney and square stuff. :P

Otherwise things could start getting a bit too random and complicated lol

And anyways kh is a disney game....so yeah.

the man speaks the truth nomura seid he'll work on kh for 7 decades

Woah, that's a bit ridiculous. Where did you hear/read that? I doubt he'll live that long, so someone would have to take his place. I'm sure he wants to live to see the conclusion of his series. I want to see the end, but 7 decades is a long time.
