Why doing the easy way when you can esaily get into the Realm of Darkness, save Aqua, find a way out, reach Castle Oblivion, cross all the Aqua-made labyrinth, and rescue the comatose Ven?...

Well to be fair, If they don't rescue Ven's body, there is a VERY GOOD CHANCE that the 13 darknesses could go into the RoD, get a sample of Aqua's memories, force Even to make a replica of Aqua(like with Riku) and have the clone navigate them through the castle with Aqua's memories, then find Ventus and steal his body to use for the 13th vessel. He'd be too easy to take, since Ven can't even use his body. : I mean, i'm sure in KH3 they'll find out how to get to Ven and take advantage of that so they can make a 13th vessel, so it's better if they not go through with that plan, so they wont end up regretting it later.

While we're at it, let's build replicas of Terra, Aqua, Xion, Roxas, Naminé, Eraqus, and Ansem the Wise to save the trouble of visiting the Realm of Darkness and acquiring the Key to Unlock Hearts

Replicas (or yaknow, a form of clone) doesnt mean you have the real person..

If you ask me Even is more likely to be one of the thirteen.

I'm sorta rusty on some of the mechanics DDD introduced, but can any of them even extract Ventus's heart to begin with?  Riku was able to dive into Sora's heart, but I thought actual heart extraction was something no one but Xehanort was able to consciously do.  Plus, if it were that simple, they wouldn't need that Key to Return Hearts plot device thingy.  If Riku, Mickey, and Yen Sid can't (or won't, for whatever reason) pull it off, chances are they don't have anything but Ansem the Wise's data to go by.  There's also Ventus's actual body to account for, as spiderfreak mentioned.  Sure, he's locked up tight so no one but Aqua can get to him, but c'mon--do you really wanna leave his body rotting in some lonely chamber?

I don't think they would build Ven a body. It would be senseless to do. But, Even could make a body for Roxas and Xion to live their lives. They have the hearts but not the body. 

Xehanort could seize him and force him to make vessels or something.

Sounds good to me.  But like Vexen (Even) still could carry some evil in him so making a replica will be like making a Nightmare Armored Ventus without the armor... But that would be an epic boss. ;D

As others have said, only Xehnaort knows how to extract hearts (possibly Yen Sid/Master Eraqus too).

 

They could build a body for Ventus and put his heart into it, but there's a possibility that the vessel will develop its own heart and overpower Ventus (since he could still be weak). The only way to ensure the new vessel won't fight back is to use Ventus' old body. Or, they could put his soul into an inanimate object...

Well , firstly , I do think that Even and the others won't help the "Team Of Light" . And secondly , if Aqua gets saved , she will wake Ventus up . Actually there's only one problem in my 2nd point :Who will exctract Ventus' heart from Sora's ? It might be Yen Sid but who knows .....
