This was an issue that was brought up many moons ago and now its being brought back with this.

Look, I'm on good terms with Nintendo, but I have to be real here: Nintendo's already sitting on big ass piles of money, they don't need to be siphoning off people making LPs for their games on YouTube. It makes them look greedy and quite frankly, dumb.

Yeah, I thought they went back on this a while ago and decided it was really dumb and greedy? Did the guys who came up with this idea get fired and then re-hired again?

Nintendo just recently stated that they're working on splitting profit between them and content uploaders though. They were already taking the full profit of any Nintendo related content uploaded. They're just splitting the profit now. It's not like it's wrong of them. It may look bad, but it's copyright and trademarked under their name. No one likes it when you make money off of their own product.

Let's not forget the golden rule

Any company wants money.

Your happiness only matters cause your negative responses would put off other buyers.

All about the money.

Let's plays in themselves, generally include commentary, criticism or teaching of the game in question, which classes them under Fair use.  I personally think with the free advertising for the game they get,it's just giving off mad negative public relations, unless they're taking a very very very small margin, considering they already get the money from the player buying the game, and them encouraging their viewers to buy the game and promoting it, for free, it seems like a scumbag move to a point some people I followed just stopped doing Nintendo let's plays.

The thing is, this was happening to all people, so I understand where it's a problem where content was uploaded with no intention of gaining money, but for those that do monetize their videos, it makes sense for Nintendo to stop that. However, Nintendo is going from full profit, to shared profit with content uploaders. They used to take all the profit from videos. It's not really right for someone else to make money off of your products by just uploading them to YouTube.

Well they haven't made much money off their home consoles this decade, might as well get it from somewhere else.

I remember the days when companies paid for their advertising instead of expecting advertisers to pay the company.

It's not right in general for nintendo to take this very small amount of money that they do not need. Nintendo would get much more money from the free advertising than from scaring off people from giving them advertising because nintendo wants to take their money, when they could spend that time playing a game on PS/XBOX/PC and get the money they need to pay their bills.
