During the PlayStation 2 era, Square Enix Japan loved to release reissues of their best selling games including FINAL FANTASY X, Kingdom Hearts, FINAL FANTASY X-2, Kingdom Hearts II and FINAL FANTASY XII. The need for this has decreased dramatically since then with downloadable-content becoming widely used by developers. Square Enix released an international version of FINAL FANTASY XIII but only to release the game on Xbox 360 in Japan and Birth by Sleep Final Mix was released to one get the content added in the English version available in Japan and clearly Square Enix felt the DLC market for Birth by Sleep in Japan was too low to release DLC, perhaps they even thought English fans would import it as well, random thought.
Basically, they've stopped reissues with FINAL FANTASY games because of DLC becoming widely-used, the same will most likely happen with Kingdom Hearts. It would be very odd to reissue a game in the day and age of DLC and digital releases occurring for almost every game.
