Keyblade transformations are NOT the replacement for Dive Forms.

Posted

Okay, I've seen people saying that Drive Forms won't be in KH III because Sora is getting new clothes and the Keyblade transformations are their replacement. This is quite simply not true. Yes, Sora will have new clothes, yes Drive Forms will be replaced but Keyblade transformations are not it. Look at the second trailer, the layout and execution are nearly identical to Command styles so it's likely the replacement for that system and we already know that Attraction Flow is an evolution of Flowmotion. That means we still need a replacement for Drive Forms. It may be similar, it may be not, but I doubt the replacement for Drive Forms would be nearly identical to a system from a different game.

This is all speculation, but, I think they might be back. It could be we just have alot of stuff at our disposal. :P

Keyblade transformations are just the Keyblade changing it's form, it technically already does this with Keychains, but now it can change into different types of weapons.(Which TAV did in BBS) It's something complete unrelated to drive forms.

Think of it this way:

Keyblade Transformations = Sora's weapon (And possibly others, Riku and Kairi might get it too eventually, maybe not in KH3 but I doubt that they won't eventually be able to as well)

Drive forms = Sora's clothes and abilities

I think that was more of a tech demo than actual gameplay. Like I said Attraction Flow has been confirmed to be a evolution of Flowmotion but Reaction Commands could be used to emulate it since they've pretty much become a staple of the series.

Yeah. I had to restart my computer so I didn't write everything I wanted to. But I edited my post so yeah.

Command Styles is sort of a replacement for Drive Forms to begin with. Keyblade transformation could be a replacement for both of them.

Nothing's confirmed.

But something based off Drive forms will be in KH III because it's "a culmination of everything in the series thus far, both in story and gamely"

Honestly I want both Drive Forms and Shotlocks to return in some form in addition to Keyblade transformations and Attraction Flow.

I agree with you on that Keyblade Transformations are not the replacements for Drive forms but...what would replace them? Maybe they could keep Drive Forms and just add new ones but then again...Keyblade Transformation possibilities are endless as mentioned by Nomura so they could be so powerful and so varied that they make Drive Forms pointless or if they are powerful and varied as well then it would make the game way too easy so...arrgh it's difficult to decide. :/

Shotlocks though...they could be good as they could integrate them with the Keyblade Transformations or keep them separate but keep them balanced.

Reaction Commands definitely need to come back! They were awesome in KH2. :D

I'm not sure what to say about Attraction Flow though...

If Sora gets new clothes I'm going to toss a table through a twenty story window. He has literally only been on those clothes in a playable form for one game (Not including the KH3D credits) . I'm getting reaally tired of KH1 model Sora (Remodel, touch up, or not).

Don't worry, Yes he's getting new clothes, but it's still KH II Sora

Dude, It was confirmed a while ago that he and Riku will have new clothes. But what does it matter? It's not like he'll be 14 in KH III, they're putting new clothes on the KH 2 models

I just thought we might get a little more play time in those clothes, I really liked them. I do hope whatever they put on him next is really cool though, like maybe a sleek combination of Keyblade Armor and clothing.

Ah, It seemed like you thought that new clothes automatically meant KH I Sora. I'm looking forward to the reveal.

Nomura said he's putting all the best elements for each games in kh3.with that being said I'm not entirely convinced that they won't be in kh3 (new clothes or not). It'd be nice to have drive forms, keyblade transformation and flowmotion all at ones disposal.

I think Drive Forms should return either ways, because it is one of the most wanted things from fans. For me I would like to have Attraction Flow, Drive Form, Shotlock, Command Style and something mix between D-Link and Summon.

I also want Trinity Attack and Reaction Command.

As for Reality Shift I think it won't appear since it depends on the touch screen.

I don't want them to return honestly. I want Sora to internalize the special abilities that came from each Drive Form so he can be stronger and do more cool stuff without being timed. Also I'd love Shotlocks to come back but I don't think they will.....for Sora that is

Now, we can't just assume that Drive Forms will be replaced.. And it seems you may want them gone?

On the contrary, I loved them I'd like to keep them as the were in KH II, but different forms. I just don't think that's likely as the two systems we've seen are evolution of previous system. "Replacement" was the wrong word, it's more like "evolution"

Keyblade transformations might be Drive forms "replacement" they might not be but i doubt they will make a comeback.

I mean drive forms were basically Sora's inner strength and potential brought to the surface, and the power from the drives bleed over to base sora's abilities.

So i doubt sora needs to transform to access that kind of power.

personally i see keyblade transformations as a fusion between command styles and drive forms. each one changes your basic play style and abilities so it is easy to see why people say replacement.
