Today, my aunt Candidinha passed away, with a sudden, and serious infection :(

Tommorrow's her funeral, and even though she was a christian at heart, and I'm an atheist, I'm still going to her funeral, to pay my respect.

Some people I know IRL already told me it's best not to go, since most people will look at me differently for being an atheist, but heck that's not gonna stop me from paying my respect towards her.

R.I.P  Aunt Candidinha :(

Don't care if you're religious, or not- but I'm praying for ya, my man. As well as for your dear family.  Hope you receive as much positivity, and comfort as humanely

possible.

As Tamaki said,

Do you think you could tell me what true strength is? I may be out of line, but hiding your true self and putting on airs doesn't seem any different than running away to me.

I would think that embracing the things you truly like and being able to enjoy them is worth more than anything. To just be yourself... I believe that's what true strength really is.

Ignore what others think and go, if that's what you feel!

I'm sorry for your loss, my friend. :(

Thanks Pandy, I mean it <3

A thing like religion shouldn't stand in the way of something like this. If others disapprove of your coming, they're at fault.

I wish you much strength.

I know, I don't care if they're gonna look down on me, I'm still gonna go.

Thanks :)

What do you mean "hiding my true self"? I'm not really following you there :/

Welp xD

Dude, that's heavy stuff. Sorry I didn't see this earlier. We're here for you man. It's good you're going to her funeral. It shouldn't matter what your religious preference is. Family is family.

So sorry for you man, I know you don't believe in God, but I still like to keep you in my thoughts and hope your Aunt is in a better place. Losing a family member is hard and people should look at you like you lose someone you are family with because you have. I hope you can deal with this man, it's never easy to lose someone in the family.

(And you kinda just made me sad on my birthday, so you know I care for the people on this site)

I'm very sorry, Weed...

Sorry for your loss :(

But I think you're making the right decision by going to her funeral. You don't want to regret later on in life not going. She'll be happy you are there. Stay strong!

May your Aunt rest in peace.  Go to her and pay your respects, because in the end, you are doing this for her, and no one else.  I'm sure she would have appreciated that.  My sincerest condolences go to you and your family.  I am sorry for your loss. :(

I did go to the funeral, and guess what? It's like they said, they were looking at me with some kind of... disgust. I didn't care, I stayed until the coffin was buried.

Like I said above, I went to the funeral, and I stayed there until the end, despite those people looking at me.

Well, that's pretty wrong. Religion shouldn't matter. You paid your respects, thats all that matters!

This is kinda late, but I'm sorry. : (

I think it's just horrible that people said you shouldn't go to the funeral... It' really not about being religious but saying goodbye to an important person.

I should have seen this sooner.

Descanse em paz, tia Candidinha!

I know I am late, but I am sorry to hear that.
