Hajime Tabata has told LevelUp that the Final Fantasy XV team is aiming to release Final Fantasy XV as a simultaneous worldwide release. Tabata explains that the team wants everyone to experience the game at the same time.
Simultaneous releases are nothing new to the franchise with Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn launching worldwide on the same day for PC and PlayStation 3 and again for PlayStation 4. The iOS & Android releases of Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years and Final Fantasy VI were also all released on the same day worldwide.
Single-player console titles have also been approaching this, with Final Fantasy XIII-2 released in the rest of the world a month after the Japanese release. Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster however were to delayed to avoid clashing with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One releases.
