The Square Enix DS title we never got

Posted

In August 2009, Square Enix released a title for Nintendo DS that sadly never saw the light of day outside of Japan. This title was Blood of Bahamut. An action role-playing video game developed by Think & Feel and published by Square Enix. Directed by the legendary Motomu Toriyama and composed by Naoshi Mizuta. You can view the game's final trailer below. Would you like to have played this game?

But yeah, this looks pretty cool, too.

They never even begun development for those two on DS. Matrix Software started work on The 4 Heroes of Light and Dimensions after FFIV and FFIV: The After Years.

maybe. it sure looks neat for its time.

Looks boring as all get out, so Nah.

(My opinion, no offense intended)

Looks really fun! Very similar to an idea I was working on once, but with slightly faster gameplay and on the ground instead of tiles in the sky.

Well it looks cool but also a bit boring, so maybe, maybe not.

In a New York minute. ;)

Played both this and Sigma Harmonics.  I gotta be honest, they are probably some of the worst games to grace the DS.  A blessing in disguise that they never came here. And out of the two of them, Sigma Harmonics was the better simply because of a more interesting premise and a pretty decent soundtrack.

Meh. It's hard to get a feel for a game from just a gameplay trailer, but this doesn't look all that fun. The artstyle especially just sits wrong with me- the huge blocky polygon giants and the small 2D sprites don't even look like they're from the same game.

I more than likely would've skimmed this to be honest. It doesn't look all that appealing.
