Hey, Guys.

This is Songbird Rebel here, dropping by with a little food for your thought. And man, does this (possibly touchy) thought scare me. You all may have heard about the rumored “curses” of these two horror movies, "The Poltergeist" and "The Exorcist". Or even the infamous “Superman Curse”. Well, what if the role of "Master Xehanort" is indeed, cursed? Now I know I will get some hate for this topic, but please hear me out. We all know that the “Xehanort Saga” is coming to an end; but when you think about it, you may begin to take notice of the time gap between the demises of Chikao Otsuka and Leonard Nimoy are roughly a month apart. As well as how the two actors are close in age (with Leonard Nimoy being two years shy). Otsuka passed away at the age of 85 from the ischemic heart failure, and Nimoy passed away at the age of 83 from the complication of his Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (interestingly enough: a few days before the latter “kicked the can”, he was rushed to hospital due to chest and “heart” pains). So what do you guys think? Do you think that it may be just a scary coincidence, or do you think that it's what "Master Xehanort" had said: That "Destiny is never left to chance"? Feel free to voice in your opinion and/or comment about the topic below.

Not exactly. When I think about the coincidence that the two main voice actor of the Kingdom Heart antagonist passed away, I thought about what I've heard about on the "Superman Curse". Here's the link to see what I mean: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superman_curse

You mean it's kinda like the Madden Curse?

To be frank, I don't think there's much to the curse idea. Both men were in their eighties, and their deaths were of natural causes, so it's not like anything uncanny was surrounding it. The timing was coincidental, but I don't think there's anything more to it than that.

This is a much better explanation than how I was going to put it.

"They didn't pass because of some curse, they passed because they were old as crap."

The "Madden Curse"?

To a paranoid conspiracy theorist there are no coincidences.

The Madden Curse is a theory that every player on the cover of Madden NFL has had something bad happen to them. Here's a few:

Marshall Faulk appeared on the 2003 cover, and his career (and the success of the St. Louis Rams) severely declined afterwards. He did not register another 1,000-yard rushing season and his yards per carry average dropped from a consistent 5.4 over the previous three years to 4.5 in 2002 and 4.0 in 2003 and 2004. He started 21 out of a possible 32 games from 2002–2003 as knee injuries got the better of him. He underwent reconstructive knee surgery in 2005 and retired that same year. Since 2007, the Rams have a record of 22–73–1.

Running back Shaun Alexander, then the league's reigning Most Valuable Player, was featured on the cover of Madden NFL 07, and sustained a foot injury that caused him to miss six starts. As a result, Alexander’s rushing statistics were substantially less than those from the previous season, and he never returned to true form.

This has happened since 1999!!
