I guess they were going for more iconic characters to be used as cameos?

Well KH is never really part of the arcade scene, which is what they were going for. (I know there were some character cameos that were equally not arcade related, but they're a lot more iconic than Sora and Co. are.)

Sora NEEDS to at least have a cameo appearance in WR2, at least. 

It also had no Tekken or Soul Calibur.

Yeah, plus I don't think Kingdom Hearts isn't famous enough to be in a Wreck-it-Ralph movie. I mean it's a popular game series but isn't really as well known as Mario or Call of Duty or Sonic or FF or Packman.

They were going mainly with icons that existed since the 80's and 90's like Mario,Sonic,Street Fighter.....etc.Kingdom Hearts wasn't a part of that period heck it's literally 13 years old

Probably because those guys weren't "family friendly". Also, the only thing FF had was an "Areith is alive" graffiti thing! Disney could've at least made a picture of Sora or the KH logo and put that in the movie! But NOOOOOOO. Also, when was the last time Sonic or Mario were in an arcade? But they were still part of the 80's/90's era of gaming. They are very well-known to both kids and adults alike. Plus, this movie is about ALL classic and well known games. You don't have to be an arcade character to be in the movie (but I hope they put me in the sequel if they make one).

Probably because of that "classic gaming" excuse. But seriously, Disney wouldn't even put in a single cameo of the game they helped make?! That's pretty cold.
