The idea for Kingdom Hearts was thought of through a chance meeting between Final Fantasy developer Shinji Hashimoto and a Disney executive in an elevator.

 

Square Enix (or as it was known then, Squaresoft) and Disney had previously worked in the same building in Tokyo, before Squaresoft became Square Enix and moved away.

 

During their time this encounter allowed Hashimoto to pitch the idea directly to Disney and ultimately led to the creation of Kingdom Hearts! An elevator pitch at it's best!

Yeah, I've heard this somewhere before. ^^

Yep! This sure was an awesome elevator moment!

big things (including relationships) always start with "Hey...umm...so how's the weather?

Thank goodness there's no Marvel developer in that elevator,or else the future of the games might be darker than ever...
