I'm going to go with the cliched option and say DDD. It's just so...cinematic. It has a feeling of coming back to characters you know and love all over again. The book motif just made it even better. And the score is beautiful, even if it's reused. None of the other recaps come close.

I vote for KHII but DDD comes in second.

All of them i can't choose between them.

It's hard to pick, but probably KH3D.

Same. The book style made pretty nice use of the second screen, too, which too many 3DS games don't.

I might've even said Days if that were an option, I really liked the showing of all the Org. members (plus Sanctuary is never used enough).

KH3D. Mainly due to the song choice, the cinematic itself and Mickey Mouse doing his Fantasia bit on the bottom screen.KH2 comes in at a very close second though as that is also a fantastic cinematic.

Days' opening was good too, if slightly sadder. Sanctuary has a very odd sorrowful feel to it in that game, even in the opening.

Yeah, but that's kinda why I like it (I like to feel sad sometimes). Plus it fits; anyone who's played KH2 and is going in to Days for the first time knows that things are not going to end well for Roxas, so there's this feeling of predetermined tragedy that Sanctuary helps punctuate.

It was insanely hard choosing between KH2 and KH3D, but in the end I have to go with 3D because it shows more characters (some of which we had never seen in high-res before) and the music is better than Passion in terms of how it encompasses the game series as a whole as opposed to how Passion only concerns KH2.

Dream Drop Distance of course. The opening was excellent because of the song they choose instead of playing the same musics like Simple and Clean or Sanctuary. I love watching Sora, Donald, and Goofy coming out the pages of the book and watching the recap of Kingdom Heart, Chain of Memories, 358/2 Days, and Kingdom Hearts 2 and watching a glimpse of Kingdom Hearts 3 with Sora, Riku, Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Terra, Aqua, Ventus, and Roxas confronting Master Xehanort for a final battle in the Keyblade Graveyard. That was the best opening yet in the Kingdom Hearts series.

I actually played Days before even watching  LP of KHII and I found the ending bittersweet.  The reason it's not on this list is because it wasn't a recap of past events.

Re: coded. DDD is good, but Re: coded's intro just... Stood out at me.

Peace!

i would say DDD or Re:Coded

I have to say that while I love all the recap openings so far, Dream Drop Distance takes the cake ever so sweetly!  It masterfully recaps events in the series via the swelling musical piece "Passion" and it just gives us the overwhelming sense of hype of Kingdom Hearts III finally coming to us!  So yeah, 3D had the best recap in my opinion. :3

Now, let's just wait until Kingdom Hearts III comes along...now that opening will be something to see, of that much I'm sure! :D

It's hard to choose, but I would pick KH2's opening as my favorite. It was tough to decide between this one and DDD's.

Re:Codded of course

actually KH2. KH3D is a close second but I like the art style of KH2's more plus Goddess Utada singing is <3

I think DDD did it perfectly, it really utilized the dual screen and summarized the important events of the series pretty well

II has always been my favorite, but DDD has so much polish to it it's hard not to love, especially since it's some five games extra to tell.

Well for me it's Kingdom Hearts 2

But I also like Re:coded's opening, because i loved how they showed everything that happen how Sora remembered it^^

Dream Drop Distance!

I could listen to the score all day!

Legit watching the video gave me chills.

All of them are amazing for me :D

Hard to choose between II and 3D, but, If I have to choose one, Dream Drop Distance is the best.

Mine is between re: chain of memories and Kingdom Hearts 2
