Kingdom Hearts 3 should have the option to change gameplay

Posted

I know it's not likely for Sqaure Enix to do this, but they should seriously do this.

Kingdom Hearts has been changing from two different gameplays option in their games. Kingdom Hearts 1, 2, and days has gameplay where you had to select a menu to choose between magic, attacking, and summons. While BBS, Recoded, and DDD had had gameplay where you easily use magic and special attacks within seconds. Shouldn't KH3 have that option? While I like the KH1 & KH2 gameplay, I prefer using BBS & DDD gameplay since you can use magic quickly as possible.

Ah, I see what you mean.  What you are referring to is to choose between the classical Kingdom Hearts play-style, or the command style used in the recent games! That's a pretty cool idea! :D

KH2 gameplay is all we need IMO.

Agreed, but I understand why people would want choice. Honestly, before we got that initial KHIII trailer, I was afraid they would go with the BBS/DDD style of gameplay which I dislike compared to the first two games. But some people feel the opposite of that, obviously, and I think it would be beneficial for a choice. So, hopefully we get one.

If they did that, there'd be a lot of problems. Most notably the sheer amount of time it would take to make a bunch of new commands just for that.

Also, there is a quick slot thing to use magic/ items/ abilities faster, so really it's not that much of a matter of speed.

We won't. It would be like developing two different games.

It would be neat, sure....But it's not really something they'd do, nor would they have the time to do. Like Soravids pointed out, it would be live developing two completely different games. They need a signature game play style for future titles, and having both would complicate things for these future titles. It would be cool, but I doubt it will happen.

Ah, Wouldn't it be nice if all games had options like that? Everyone would be happy.

I get what you mean, but you realize that would mean practically having to make two different games and make them one. It's more practical to make the standard gameplay the console style and the Deck based gameplay the portable/spinoff style.

Since it's a numbered title, it makes more sense to have the normal gameplay anyway. But they are making a lot of changes though (no quick time events) and there's always at least one or two things unique about it.

KH3 is literally a greatest hits collection of all previous gameplay styles, so I'm not worried about it

it's an impractical wish, anyways, since it means all the combat has to be balanced for completely different types of gameplay. That's just wasted time

NO. please no. command decks were pitiful. BBS and DDD made regular keyblade combos a joke in favor of the command deck system; half the time you'd just be spamming magic to fight bosses. I want them to return to the old KH2 style keyblade combo system. This is console not handheld

I think for a huge space within the PS4, it would be better to have Command Deck with variety of different attacks and magics, since deck command was always more numerous than the classic.

We are facing many different opinions for different commands and actions through the game like: Command Style Vs. Drive Form

D-Link Vs. Summon

Classic Command Vs. Deck Command

But I do believe that Nomura will find a way to solve this by either mixing or ending up with something new that satisfy both sides.

I don't think so that would take a lot of time

I actually kinda liked the quick time events, just because they added a cinematic feel to the fights. But i'm ok with them being taken out as long as the combat makes up for it, I also really hope theres some new cutscenes that involve intense keyblade fights, like the kh2 secret movie.

Yeah, I was bit bummed out too cause I enjoyed them. But apparently you can still do those things, you just control it yourself xD Sounds interesting

It's not gonna happen. Command Decks are what separate the main title series from the side-stories.
