Where do Nobody's hearts go when they become whole?

Posted

Where do they go? Does Lea have Axel's heart in him? Does Isa have Saix's heart? Does Braig have Xigbar's heart? These nobodies all had their memories from their original personas, so they all resemble their original personas very very closely. Could Axel be given his own body?

um.....don't nobody's not have hearts? I mean I know they can grow them but I would assume they would probably just fuse back into one anyway, guess that's why they would have the memories of them being a nobody and whatnot, they are the same person after all.

That's what I was thinking too.  Also, it was revealed in KH3D that Nobodies actually form their own hearts.

"Indeed, a heart is never lost for good. There may have been variances in our dispositions, but a number of us unquestionably showed signs of a burgeoning replacement. Once born, the heart can also be nurtured. Our experiments creating Heartless, were attempts to control the mind and convince it to renounce its sense of self. But understand, one can banish the heart from the body, but the body will try to replace it, the first chance it gets, for as many times as it takes. And so I knew, even after we were divided into Heartless and Nobodies, it was just a temporary separation."

More than likely, they'd just reconstitute with the original heart (if the Heartless was destroyed)

That is very plausible.

Well, Roxas still has a presence within Sora so I guess Axel could be inside Lea somewhere. Oh wow, if Axel comes back, we have another Keyblade Weilder.

If that was the case, then there would be no point in time-travelling to get Xemnas, since he would be his own being. Here's another thought, maybe they go to Kingdom Hearts? Or they turn into Heartless?

Except Xehanort needs 13 physical bodies for the Keyblade War. Xemnas being alive within Xehanort isn't good enough.

In the case of Lea, the memories of the heart that his alter ego, Axel, has gained during the time he was a Nobody just add to those of Lea. Lea is Axel, after all, he has nothing to do with the special cases, such as Xion and Roxas.Roxas has a heart of his very own, Xion as well. They're their own person, nothing to do with Sora.

I meant in the same aspect as if Axel were to come back as a Keyblade Wielder, Xemnas would probably come back too, but then there would've been no reason to bring him back from the past.

Came in here to say this xD

In normal nobody cases I believe it would be like that. Special cases offer exceptions.

It's likely that when they're completed their "replacement" hearts become fused with their original hearts (the ones that turned into Heartless) and they are pretty much just the same person they've always been. It's not like their personalities get some kind of factory settings reset or anything (at least, I don't think so, though Zexion seemed to be a bit calm around Lea...), because as cruel as the series is to Nobodies, they ARE still people, and people change over time, as well as their personalities. They aren't dramatically different from how they used to be, but their past experiences have molded them into who they are now. It's likely that any small changes in their demeanor or discretion after they've been made whole are likely circumstantial, like how Zexion and Aeleus are just content to be made whole again and feel no need to be violent anymore. That's also why Braig is just as loyal to Xehanort and Isa is still a tool of Xehanort...probably even more now.

Yes, Nobodies go back to their original selves after they are done for, so Lea, Isa and Braig and all the others are pretty much their original selves again.  I doubt that their respective Nobodies will have their own bodies, so the way we see them is how they'll stay.  At least, that's what I think. :)

I always thought that when the Nobody dies, they are returned to their Somebody. But my theory could be wrong...

I'm not going to think too hard about that, because adding the time travel element and Nobodies can grow their own hearts in Dream Drop Distance threw me off and made my head explode. I like to think that after the original person's Heartless is destroyed the original person's heart is free and return to the body, and after the original person's Nobodies is destroyed the original person's body returns to the heart, and once the original person's heart and body return to each others the original person is reconstructed with the memories from their heartless and nobody. And as for the Nobodies so called "replacement heart" I would like to say that after the original person is reconstructed their "replacement heart" is either destroyed or fuse with the original heart. You should Nomura yourself because anything he said goes.

It would make sense that a nobodies heart just fuses with the heart of their original self.

That got retconned in DDD cuz the fact that they now can have hearts means they're not nobodies.....at least the human ones confirmed to having the ability to grow one compared to say...a Dusk

Nobodies have a burgeoning replacement, not a true heart. Lea is Axel with his heart returned to his body. Axel had a burgeoning replacement And that was destroyed when he as a Nobody was destroyed.

Semantics. The intent when Xemnas made that statement was clear.
