Posted August 21, 201015 yr I keep noticing the fact that Master Xehanort tells Terra that darkness cannot be destroyed, only channeled. So does that mean Riku still has darkness in his heart after all? Seeing as how you can't destroy it.
August 21, 201015 yr Everybody has darkness in their Hearts. The only once that doesn't have darkness in their heart at all is the Princesses of heart.
August 21, 201015 yr Everyone has Darkness, when you think about it, when your a christain you still have sin, darkness, but once you repent, you still have that darkness but it is controlled by God, so Riku still has Darkness but he can control it now.

August 22, 201015 yr i think that sod is still there. cause a while ago i was writing a story that some of it took place in chain of memories and id never played it. so i spent a LONG time watching the cutscenes; to get the story right and the words, and in one scene namine said that 'youll defeat him now, but he'll keep coming back" something along those lines. but that was the message. so i think hes still there, hes just being surpressed by riku. every one has darkness in there hearts, exept the pricesses.

August 22, 201015 yr Don't wanna read all your posts, but as a matter of fact, Riku still carries Xehanort's heartless inside him. I think that's more important than some darkness.. as mentioned, in the universe of KH, (nearly) everybody does. But the first point I've mentioned is probably going to be dealt with in KH3 or some other upcoming game.

Note that she said that during Chain of Memories. Ansem's machine expelled Apprentice Xehanort's heart from Riku's body when it exploded. No, no he doesn't. i think tht beacuse riku had such a strong grip on the darkness ansem sod and darkness remains Again, Ansem SoD/Apprentice Xehanort's heart is not, repeat, not in Riku anymore. He still retains his own darkness though.
August 23, 201015 yr It's been said before in KH that you can't ever truly get rid of the darkness. I think there is still darkness in Riku's heart, but he's controlling it, instead of being controlled BY it.

His own darkness, since that's the only darkness that remains within him post-explosion.
August 24, 201015 yr Why I think Riku still has his darkness: His eyes. Notice how they aren't the same color as every other "light hearted" Keyblade wielder. His are a stormy bluish/green. Remember that darkness can change a persons eye color, and I believe that eye color varies with the level of darkness a person has. Riku most likely still has a little, hence the new eye color.

New eye color? I'm not sure I understand you. He's had the same eye color since he was a kid, and it's prettty much just a different take from a classic favorite amongst SE protagonists. The reason Riku has blue-green eyes is the same reason Kairi has blue-violet eyes; just for a little variety to deviate from Sora's pure blue.

Since Ansem was literally a big part of his heart, you can almost imagine that they shared the same relationship as Sora/Ven, couldn't you? So if Riku lost that part of his heart, that piece of Ansem, would he even be stable?

So if Riku lost that part of his heart, that piece of Ansem, would he even be stable? Ven needed the connection to Sora and Vanitas in order to continue living. If he lost one of the two (which he did), he would lose a piece of himself, and return to the comatose state. Riku on the other hand, was connected to Ansem SoD in the same way Sora was to Kairi. The latter was merely taking shelter within the former's body; the two hearts did not merge. You can say that type of connection has a seesaw effect. You can go back and forth, up and down between the two, using power from one side as your own, and vice versa. But when the seesaw stops and someone leaves, it doesn't damage the one remaining. You can either continue by yourself, or just walk away. With Ansem gone, Riku reverted back to the way he was, before he met him. He still had his own heart, complete with his own darkness. riku is all about teh darkness but i dont think u have to be evil to control darkness but most who do are. Because darkness isn't evil. It's just that most people use it for evil intentions. Everyone has darkness in their hearts (except for the princesses) We know from people like Terra and Riku that it's not darkness that's evil, but what you do with it. In fact, Riku is the only known person who uses both light and darkness.
