Calm down before you hurt yourself with a Keyblade. First of all, it was a Mark of Mastery exam. That means, this is a test to see who has developed enough to be named master and who needs to develop more, not fail. Riku was developed enough to be made master. Sora was not developed enough and needs more time. As crazy as that sounds despite everything he has done from KH to KH2, he needs more time. Besides, expect him to be Master Sora in KH3.

Not true. They could have both been Keyblade Masters. Only Sora couldn't resist to the darkness.

That's right. Then again, it could also be used to see if one is developed enough, but in this case, it's used to save the worlds and return. Sora did not do the latter.

To tell the truth, I'm mad about this as well. But, I calmed down and accepted what happened. Just saying.

It's a hard topic I wouldn't give it too much thought.

Considering everything He'll be a Master by KH3

You realize that "Keyblade Master" is just a formal title and not really anything else at this point, right?

This ^ the title doesn't hinder you from becoming even stronger it's just a formal title really that you are given.

Nothing really worth noting and honestly I'm fine with Sora not getting the title he doesn't need it to kick butt.

Especially since both Riku and Sora got the same power from the sleeping worlds.

Yeah, it feels like the title master is just there honestly.

Sure it meant something back the but in Sora and Riku's time it holds no real merit other than being really good with the Keyblade.

That doesn't even require the title really so it feels more like something you can wave around. Or dare I say it something to make you feel like a special snowflake.

Though I doubt Riku would do that because he feels he doesn't even deserve the title.

Nomura logic :/ He saved the worlds twice and yet he's still treated like a child. But it's probably good for his character development, that he lost for once.

No, he wasn't treated like a child at all. He just isn't a master yet. Flaming Lea is right in that while Sora didn't fail, Riku went above and beyond. Honestly, I think that if Riku didn't become a master, that would treating him like a child. I would not question Yen Sid on this because he can probably tell that Sora needs to grow some more before he is ready. And FYI, Riku helped save the worlds too.

Yeah, but the point that he didn't "fail" doesn't make it better imo. It's not his fault that he got trapped in a dream within a dream, so Riku had to save him. No one could expect this to happen, and it wasn't even part of the exam. I don't know why Yen Sid just couldn't give both the master title.Sora saved the worlds twice, he defeated the Heartless and Nobody (together with Riku, yes) of Xehanort, he killed more than a half of the Org 13. If that's not reason enough to make him a master I wonder what is. Sora doesn't have to grow anymore imo, he's fine just the way he is.But like Flaming Lea said, Nomura wants him to be the "normal" guy, and making him a master before KH3 apparently doesn't work because of that. But it's fine for me that he's no master yet, I mean it wouldn't change anything. The reasons are just ridiculous imo.

I don't know how no one has said this yet. Sora wasn't even chosen by the Keyblade, so he's anything but the true Keyblade weilder. The Keyblade he uses is the one Riku was meant to use, and when he is in Valor, Master or Final Form he also uses Ventus' one.

Apart from that, what Flaming Lea, Felixx and everyone else has said.

Because technically he was chosen - when Riku fell to the darkness the keyblade went to the next nearest qualified person - Sora.

Does not the Keyblade itself choose its owner?Nomura: The Keyblade reacts to the rightful owner’s heart and appears to them. Even though it was definitely Riku who called the Keyblade towards him, the reason why Sora was able to weild it was because he also had the right qualities too.

Then again at the end of KH1 the keyblade did chose Sora permanently and now it's his keyblade. Riku later got his own separate one. Just sayin' lol Heck Aqua was gonna give him the ceremony herself until she saw Riku already had it and didn't want it to come between the two friends. Yet it still happens- one could argue it was destiny all along. It's just that he was the only one who never received the ceremony yet still ended up with the keyblade as well. If anything that says more to me about how much of a true wielder he really is. Heck didn't you ever question why Ventus' heart was drawn to Sora for healing/refuge when he was a newborn and again later as well? Why he will be the one able to save all these fallen comrades like AtW talked about in the end of DDD? That's another reason no one buys Nomura's excuse he's not special and just common. Because Nomura's own canon game info contradicts that to suit his purpose.

Yes this is all very true but I do have to point out one could argue for arguments sake he was also warned to not fall into too deep a sleep for he could never wake up. Then we have Riku following him calling out to him trying to help him avoid that but he still doesn't listen and falls right into the org trap. That said, I don't know why Yen Sid could only name one master. To me that makes no sense considering what he knew was coming with the return of Xehanort.

( There are a few secrets and tricks only masters know btw like what Xehanorts reports talk about in BBS for example)

Yeah exactly! I can't deny that Sora made some mistakes in DDD, and like you said, maybe could have avoided falling into the trap, but he still deserves to be a master by now.

And right!! I completely forgot about the secrets xD Even more reason that it makes no sense, considering they're about to have a war against Xehanort and the rest of the new organization.

And Sora is the "normal" boy, lmao xD
