It will would have these two issues no matter what time they chose to release it, especially that some stupid people aren't paying attention when the loading screen warns you about it. There is no real difference between texting while driving and playing PG while driving.

True, but things weren't as bad as they are now in the early 2000 and I mean early like 2003 level.

That's a reality with any Augmented Reality game on the mobile market not just GO so to just single GO and say it shouldn't exist is downright ridiculous

 

What's goind on in the world is not the game's fault....the game won't know if a certain area has a war or a certain area is filled with stalkers and serial killers.......it's a firetrucking game

 

what idiots do with it is not of concern of the devs cuz they never intended for it to have a malicious use and no matter how many times you try to fix or patch such things out of the game it will keep on happening cuz that's the nature of humans

Dude, this wouldn't matter no matter which period of time they did it. There were always bad things happening in the world and there will continue to be things like that. It's just a matter of people needing to be a little more cautious. I promise you issues like attention span and hacking, while it might be slightly less of an issue the further back you go, if this technology was available back then it would have been just as bad, if not more so.

 

Really the only problem I have with this concept is that DIGIMON didn't think of this first. Seriously, "digital monsters" that you can see only through a digital interface? You can find them in specific areas, with certain landmarks being hot spots for more of them? Seriously, if Digimon actually had the collectathon gimmick that Pokemon had, they could have made a whole lot of money out of this before Pokemon did...even though Pokemon would probably still outsell it...because Pokemon......but still, my point stands, this is almost like Digi-Pokemon Go.

Still at some point you have to think, whether the game was not intended to cause harm or not, whether it's a game or a freakin bird, was this the best idea to release right now or is making something for idiots to be even stupider with a good thing?

It is against my nature to say this, but since we're being honest in this topic, I see Pokémon Go as a magnificent game that gets antisocial people out of their shells, and also as a good game to thin the herd a little bit, if you guys know what I mean.

Lol, it's a videogame and it's done so much good but just because a few idiots do bad things it's automatically a bad idea. 

 

It helps people lose weight due to the walking aspect

It encourages ppl to socialise more, something that VG's always get slandered for is making you antisocial.

It's helped socially anxious people and autistic folk to become more social and helped them to make friends since some find it hard. Google it if you don't believe me.

 

Gosh, our generation are always getting slandered for being antisocial and not going outside, we get an app that encourages us to go outside and be social and now everyone is so negative towards it.

 

It's a brilliant invention, if you're interested in game development and the whole gaming market then you should really be paying attention to this. It's not Nintendo's fault that people are stupid. As for kids going outside and being in 'danger', that goes back to the thing about socialising. Parents should know about this app by now and should take responsibility for their kids safety when using it. Oh and also

 

PHONES. You're using a phone, it's battery is bound to die sometime so you can't be out for more than 6 hours considering the app will drain your battery. Plus your mobile data will run out and stuff. 

 

Don't blame nintendo, this is a great thing.

Should the only conclusion to be drawn from this be that we should shut down any form of online chat with  people because there might be danger of someone abusing it?

I hate to break it to you, but people are going to attack each other and not pay attention whether we have Pokemon Go or not. That's just the way the world is. It's just like the graphs you plot when you have Y=1/X. Y will approach the value it would have if we could divide by zero, but it will never be that value exactly. Why? Because we don't live in a perfect world. I know you are all staring at me for the random math reference - but it's exactly the same. And you said we'd never use math in the real world.

If anything, Pokemon Go is kind of getting rid of the idiots that roam this world. I mean look at the daughter (who was injured) and mother who blame the game because it pointed the former to walk towards a highway. Who the firetruck goes to play in a highway? So if the game points you towards a active volcano, you're going?

 

For firetrucks sakes, the game warns you at every start up/restart.

Instilling fear into people on something that shouldn't be feared just because few individuals misused it

I agree. Too many dangerous things are happening and people are really getting hurt. Some, though, it may be their faults, but there are just too many problems altogether.
