Master Xehanort said the key blade war was fought over the x-blade right? I didn't see any mention of this in Chi. What do you all think is going on here? Was MX wrong about why the keyblade war was fought?

We may learn about the X-Blade in the upcoming update on the 29th, in the 'Season Two' in Unchained Chi and/or Back Cover.

It may have appeared during the Keyblade War and we may not have seen it due to the Player going unconscious for who-knows-how-long after fighting four Foretellers.

As for Master Xehanort possibly being wrong: Once again, we have the three possibilities of seeing the X-Blade (with my best guess being Back Cover since we'll have the story from the Foretellers' perspectives). Now it's possible that since this battle took place thousands/hundreds/whatever amount of years before the other games, the tale may have been changed passed down many generations and eventually becoming a fairy tale to some and a legend to others.

well the game mostly centers around what happens to the player. The X-blade could have been forged and we, the player, simply did not encounter it.

Hey just cause our player didn't see it doesn't mean that it didn't happen. We've still got more of X left to uncover, including the Special Extra Episode for X on the 29th, however "Season 2" works in Unchained X, and whatever revelations come from the Foretellers' side in X Back Cover. You have only seen the first of many endings to this story.

Master Ava: There are some secrets you must never know.

I wonder if, maybe, because each Master had their own desire to safeguard the light, they each ultimately came to the conclusion that the X-blade was the best way, but wanted to keep it a secret from their followers. Or, it could ultimately have something to do with Luxu, perhaps using it. I wonder if maybe even, the others finally realized what was up, and ultimately sacrificed themselves to shatter the blade in order to stop Luxu.

Sorry, random speculation. :P

Well, KHUχ continues from where KHχ left off. We might see it there or even in χBC too.

I'm pretty sure that we'll see more about the X-blade in Back Cover. The X-blade's existence is forbidden knowledge, I highly doubt the players knew that they were fighting over the X-blade. Xehanort is definitely a parallel to Luxu, in the fact that he knows things that the others don't. So it makes sense he would know what they were really like. Plus if look what Master Xehanort actually says, "Countless Keyblade wielders gave up their lives, all in search of one ultimate key." The players were not necessarily the ones seeking X-blade but their deaths were caused by the search for it. This makes sense if the Fortellers were warring for the X-blade in hopes of remaking the world, to their liking. Look at some of the dialogue and you'll see they are definitely after Kingdom Hearts. Aced, wanting to reshape the world with himself as it's leader is a big giveaway. All the Foretellers have the same goal but they each have their own ideas on how the world should be.

That would be awesome if this was the case!  And maybe all of them fighting was just a facade to draw Luxu out so that they'd be able to play their trump card!  But I dunno, with Nomura, anything is possible, so we may probably be wrong!

And well, I agree with everyone else here, we've only seen one side of the story!  We've yet to see the Secret Episode, Season 2 and Back Cover, so that's three opportunities to see the X-Blade, ya know?

FORGE THE X-BLADE.

I'll leave this here...

EDIT: Honestly I was quite surprised the x-Blade didn't make an appearance. It seems to have a major historical impact on the story. I guess the "secret episode" will tell us, like others said. Or at least I hope it gets acknowledged somehow. Maybe we'll learn in KHUX?

One also has to consider how history can be reinterpreted and retold throughout the ages, losing and gaining details

This just made my day. Also I agree I feel with it's significance I feel it would be an important element to include within the story.

I think that mysterious hooded guy will begin to discuss about it.

We will see him probably too.
