September 2, 20169 yr I've only seen Advent Children so far. I heard spirits within is awful and Kingslaive isn't out in my country.
September 2, 20169 yr None, really. Spirits Within is boring, and Advent Children is maddening on multiple levels. Though I've not seen Kingsglaive, from what I've heard and know of it, I doubt it would be up my alley.
September 2, 20169 yr I've only seen one and that was Advent Children, although I fell asleep midway during the film I guess I don't really have a favorite, although Kingsglaive does look promising, I still need to see it.
September 3, 20169 yr So far Advent Children. Missed out on Kingsglaive and didn't see Spirits Within yet unless watching the Cinema Sins video counts as seeing it. Advent Children might be boring, at least the finale and the music are amazing ^-^
September 3, 20169 yr I've only seen Advent Children, and I had to stop halfway in because it was so boring. Haven't seen Spirits Within, but I watched an in-depth review on it and it looks pretty bad, too. I have no interest in anything related to FFXV, so I have no plans to watch Kingsglaive. So I guess none of them.
September 3, 20169 yr Kingsglaive by far. I need to see how it ties into FFXV on the larger side of things, but the film was enjoyable action, character and plot wise. The animation in particular is truly amazing. Spirits Within is one I need tl rewatch, but I remember it not being anything special the first time around. As for Advent Children... Plot wise it is absolutely abysmal. I think people got way too caught up in the fight between Cloud and Sephiroth to actually remember that the movie wasn't good. Great animation for sure and the action was cool, but like so much ehhhhhhh when it came to the rest of it.
September 3, 20169 yr To be honest, I have yet to see a Final Fantasy Movie, but I do know that I do like Cloud's outfit in that movie, so basically I like the outfit in that movie, but I have yet to see it so if we were talking outfits, then I would pick it, but appearantly I can't be anything really because it's not that I am not a Final Fantasy fan, since I am very new to the series, but I just haven't watched any of the movies because I would like to finish those games before seeing the movies.
September 3, 20169 yr Kingsglaive was the best imo, Advent Children is incomprehensible if you haven't played FF7 (the dialogues seem kinda long too) and Spirits Within shouldn't have Final Fantasy in it's title.
September 3, 20169 yr I really enjoyed Kingsglaive it was an awesome movie, I really liked Advent Children as well, since I beat the game a few times and with the movie It makes sense to me. Spirits Within is okay, its actually a very good movie it just shouldn't have the FF name attached to it
September 3, 20169 yr In terms of story, Advent Children is probably my most favorite. However, Kingsglaive looks freaking amazing! It's probably the closest to life that Square has ever gotten with Final Fantasy (well except for that short scene with Noctis and the gang at the very end, they really should have taken a tiny bit more time to touch up the lip-work). The story was nice enough as well, it was just a bit harder for me to keep up with as I'm not as familiar with XV's lore since I haven't been watching every single trailer and demo and pre-thingy to be as familiar with the story. Well, I have seen quite a bit, between the early to more recent trailers, the two anime episodes, the Chapter 0 demo, and whatever my friends tell me, but I still only have a faint grasp of what the story is. ...so I guess I actually have been watching every little thing, I just have a harder time grasping it. Also, the only thing that's really bugging me is that I feel like I'm not being given enough opportunities to really know much of anything about Noctis himself. I mean, I'm sure we're going to learn a lot about him within the game itself since he's the primary protagonist, but for a character that has been the face of Final Fantasy's future for over 10 years, I feel like we don't really know too much about him other than he looks cool, brooding, and bad ass, is a prince, and is a bit emotionally reserved. I can tell there's supposed to be a lot riding on him as a character, I just feel like I haven't been given enough substance to really feel interested in him or to understand whatever motivations he has. Again, it feels really weird to be saying this since the thing he stars in doesn't even come out for another two months or so, and yet there's been so much other material concerning him stretched over these 10 years I feel like I hardly know anything basic about the guy that will get me invested in his journey. But hopefully my concerns will be properly addressed in Final Fantasy XV proper.
September 3, 20169 yr After watching all 3 of them, I would say Kingsglaive is the best. It just felt more enjoyable I guess? I don't really know how to explain it, but I guess the graphics and fight scenes blew my mind away and made me really like it. The story and characters were ehhhh. On the other hand, Advent Children did have characters that you knew and greatly cared about. I would prefer Cloud over Nyx any day as the protagonist. The fight scenes, while not as many as Kingsglaive, were also really good. I think one thing that made Kingsglaive's battles look better is because all the Kingsglaive members had the ability to warp strike, which created more exciting and flashy looking fight scenes. So between the two, I don't really know. They were both good. It's just that Kingsglaive had characters I honestly didn't care about and are only gonna appear in the movie. Advent Children at least had characters I liked and were interested in, which made me care more about the outcome of the movie.
September 3, 20169 yr None. I heard little about Kingslaive, but it sounds bad from what I have heard, Spirits Within was terrible, and I have many issues with Advent Children, like how they completely changed Cloud's character.
September 3, 20169 yr Kingsglaive Mostly because it's the only good Final Fantasy movie so far and even then that's mostly because it sets up FFXV but as an individual movie..........I dunno a decade ago I thought Advent Children was good but after lots of rewatches I hated the movie more and more especially after finishing FFVII And Spirits Within is a total piece of shit movie that barely has anything to do with the Final Fantasy name Kingsglaive was the best imo, Advent Children is incomprehensible if you haven't played FF7 (the dialogues seem kinda long too) and Spirits Within shouldn't have Final Fantasy in it's title. And even after you play FFVII Advent Children is just hollow..........there is barely any story as the whole movie amount to chase scenes with Kadaj and his gangs and the only memorable part of the movie is the Sephiroth battle and he appears at the last 7 minutes of the movie
September 3, 20169 yr I didn't like that Spirits one and I really liked Advent Children (complete), so I think it's fairly obvious. I haven't seen Kingsglavie.
September 3, 20169 yr Spirits Within. And I don't care what people think of it: it was a good movie. is this a life is strange reference?
September 3, 20169 yr is this a life is strange reference? No. It's what I think. Besides the quote from LiS is "Spirits Within is the best syfy movie ever made, despite what anyone says", and I don't claim it is by any means. Edited September 3, 20169 yr by Philip Ellwell
September 3, 20169 yr I still have a huge soft spot for The Spirits Within for absolutely no reason. At least it can stand on its own.
Which Final Fantasy film is your favorite?
