HitchBOT, the hitchiking robot.
So I just heard about this a couple days ago, but some Canadian College students were doing an experiment on human kindness by releasing a small robot that had some basic conversation programming and asked people to drive it a little ways, then be dropped off so someone else could pick it up. People who found it took it to sports games, a wedding, and even had a portrait painted of it. hitchBOT traversed Canada, Germany, and the Netherlands safely. It was set to go through the US next, starting in Massachusetts and hoping to get to San Francisco... Except I just found out today that it only made it to Philadelphia, where it was vandalized and damaged beyond repair. It made a trip of about 300 miles in the US before it was "killed", while it made a trip of around 3000 miles through Canada without any major damage. *sigh* Of course the US had to be the place where some jerk would destroy a robot involved in a "human kindness" experiment. We're never going to get rid of the hateful stereotypes if we keep proving them right... But anyway, what do you all think of this? Personally, I think this was a really cute way to do an experiment, and I'm so glad that there are awesome people out there who had a ton of fun with this. Taking it to weddings and sports games? That's awesome and I wish I had been someone to find hitchBOT. Super Smash Bros. 4 for Wii U & 3DS
If you're definitely sure you want the Shulk amiibo (considering you thought about buying it for $40, I'd say you are), then my advice would be to buy it now. If you wait, the price might shoot back up, and you'll have missed your chance. It is also possible that the price may go down further, but unless there's a reprint I don't see that as likely, and it would basically become a gamble with skewed odds. The Pro Controllers aren't going anywhere in stock or price, so there's no risk in waiting until you can afford one again. I also had the same issue where I played with the gamepad and just felt off while playing (I think the size of the controller was subtly making my mind trip up, for some reason). I got a pro controller and felt comfortable using it. I don't like it as much as a GameCube controller simply because I love the form factor of the GC (so comfy), but it is completely functional and shouldn't be hard to adapt to if you've been using the gamepad. That stinks. X_X I hope you get it soon. I've always thought figmas looked really cool, but I've never actually purchased one.

Steins;Gate was the most emotionally draining show I've ever watched... So naturally I immediatel...
@Ruby Either way, hope you enjoy it as much as I did! @Kyouma Turns out I already saw the OVA without knowing. The website I was using just had it with the rest of the series. So that's one down.

Super Smash Bros. 4 for Wii U & 3DS
So I was meaning to post a pic of the Lucina amiibo I imported, but I've got some extra stuff since then so: (sorry for bad lighting + flash glare) Imported Lucina, got Palutena from amazon, and bought the 3DS version so I could play while house sitting. All I'm missing is the Robin amiibo, then I have all the amiibos that I wanted, plus both smash games. Lucina was creatively named Martha, and I am incapable of beating her. Haven't been able to name Palutena or train her yet, but I'm sure she'll end up just as evil as Martha.

KH13 Official Bot Research Thread
Okay, this thread actually made me curious, so I was going through old reports to see if there was anything that stuck out. The majority of the recent threads made by Bots (that were reported) are trying to sell drugs of some kind. So for some reason, the bots that make threads are almost always the ones selling drugs, while the other ones normally just make posts in random threads or status updates. As for the Russian bots... I've only been able to find two reports that contained the actual text: one was pornography, the other was drugs. I was hoping for something a bit more off the wall, expecting nonsense, and learned it was basically every other bot, but in Russian...

KH13 Official Bot Research Thread
Almost all bots register their age in the mid to late twenties and the early to mid thirties. Their usernames will almost always be nonsense, usually containing a number. In addition, it seems that most of the Bots that do the Russian status updates register their gender as female. Quite honestly, I'm not sure if there's information that DC or someone wouldn't want me to say, but I figured all that is relatively harmless, and I thought it a little interesting, at least.

Have you tried to make sea-salt ice cream?
I did make it once. It turned out quite nicely, especially considering that I had never made ice cream before, and I did a little... improvisation. See, I didn't have some of the ingredients (heavy cream I know I didn't have, though I feel like there was something else as well) and I couldn't drive at the time, so I looked up substitutes (butter and milk mixture for the cream). It ended up not being super creamy (actually, more akin to what it is in the games, judging by the sound it makes when bitten), but tasted really good. Basically vanilla with saltiness. Due to my inexperience, though, the whole process took like 5 hours. Which is why I haven't tried making it again.

@Kyouma I didn't even know those existed! I will look into them. @Javelin Its so good, especially if you're someone who can get emotionally invested into fiction. X_X Tears were shed. @Ruby I've read that many fans recommend the game first, then watching the anime. I just didn't realize that I would want the game until after I was a few episodes into the show... and by then I was already in too deep.

Steins;Gate was the most emotionally draining show I've ever watched... So naturally I immediately pre-ordered the special editon of the VN upon finishing the show. So good.

Are the KH Mangas worth buying?
As everyone has said, the manga has a bigger focus on comedy and a different art style (it's quite cute, which I love, but I know there are some who hate it). They do change the story around, changing, adding, and dropping events. However, and this is just my opinion, I think that most of the changes are pretty good. For example, in the 358 manga, they added so many new interactions and scenes with all the organization members (many of which are quite humorous) that it ends up being a very different experience from the game, even if the core story is the same. Heck, in 358's case, I like the manga more than the game (and I already liked the game quite a bit). I think that they're definitely worth a read. They keep the core story in tact, but present it in new and funny ways, with a more cutesy art style.

"Tales of" Series Discussion Thread
I'd be willing to bet that Berseria will be the last one to launch on PS3. Though, seeing as how I don't have a PS4 and don't really want to buy one currently, I certainly don't mind that they're slow with the generation change.

Pixels Movie
Hey now, I thought that was an enjoyably stupid movie. Like, wouldn't call it my favorite, but I like watching it. Anyway, as to this movie, I think we'll give it a try when its out on DVD. The reception is too mixed to risk paying so much to see it in theaters, but I think it might end up being okay.

"Tales of" Series Discussion Thread
I actually do have it. Its just that I've had a pretty huge backlog (and I've actually gotten it pretty small by this point, so that's good), and the load times are so much longer than the 3DS version, so I haven't gotten around to playing through it. (I believe I got through Cheagle Woods before I moved on.)

Do you like to platinum PS3/PS4/PS Vita games?
Haven't platinumed any game that I own. I did get almost all the achievements in Tales of Vesperia, but there's not platinum trophy on 360.

Super Smash Bros. 4 for Wii U & 3DS
Well, I caved and bought the Lloyd costume. On the 3DS version, the outline actually makes it look quite reminiscent of what it looked like in the GC game. Plus, the Mii Swordfighter has attacks to make a semi-passable Lloyd moveset. Blurring Blade = Sword Rain Airborne Assault = Tempest Skyward Slash Dash = nothing, but the best out of the up-b specials. Fits Lloyd well enough. Power Thrust = Sonic Thrust, and when used in the air kinda works as Rising Phoenix's descent. Do kinda wish the costume would've had Flamberge or Vorpal Blade instead of his default sword, but ah well.

"Tales of" Series Discussion Thread
Abyss got released on the 3DS, the title sounded interesting so I looked up reviews. Decided to get the game, bought it, played two hours, stopped for two months, went back, then played through the game twice. I've been into the series ever since.

Did you get Windows 10?
I'm going to wait and see if any major issues pop-up, especially with program comparability. I'm fine with Windows 8.1 right now, so I'll wait until I'm sure it's a good decision to upgrade.

Super Smash Bros. 4 for Wii U & 3DS
So hey all my fellow Tales fans, look what we've been blessed with: ... *sigh* I mean, I never really expected to see anything Tales actually make it into Smash, but starring into the soulless eyes and flat smile of LloydMii just kills a little of my soul. I might actually buy this, since I love to show my support for the Tales series, but... yeah. Suddenly I fully understand the disappointment of those who were hoping for K. Rool.

Who actually defeated Vanitas' Lingering Spirit?
I beat it on PS3 version (never played PSP), but only with Aqua. If I recall correctly, I made heavy use of Seeker Mines and Thunder Surge... Wasn't the hardest fight for me, though, Xehanort's Armor (don't remember the official title of the boss) was. I basically spammed Aqua's Lightbloom shotlock and then cartwheeled for the entire fight. As for Mysterious Figure, I believe I just got lucky, 'cause I managed to get him down in three tries.

Game Files are TOO DAMN BIG
30 GB? Huh, guess I won't be trying it out. That would literally take days with my crap-tier internet. I think increasing file sizes wouldn't be too bad if the internet services provided were increasing in quality at the same rate. But they aren't and tons of people like me are stuck with internet that takes hours to download a few gigabytes. This is also why I hate that many games are moving towards digital only. X_X
