"Tales of" Series Discussion Thread
Graces took me like 70 hours to beat (including the future arc). So that was the longest for me. I think Abyss was actually my fastest completion (either that or Hearts R), because I loved it so much I powered through it. I missed every side quest the first time though (it was my first tales game), so that may be why. EDIT: I feel like Xillia might actually be the shortest I've played, though. I did all of the sidequests in the game, and both sides of the story, and my final save file is at about 100 hours. Abyss and Vesperia are both at over 140 after 2 playthroughs, and Graces would definitely be up there if I did a second. Xillia 2 would take a while for the bonus dungeon and getting the debt repaid ending. Hearts R might be about the same length as Xillia, not sure how much side content I missed.

How the Kingdom Hearts series was made
That was quite hilarious. Loved the ones about Days and BbS the most, though I'll admit that "how many drugs are you on?" "yes" and the signing the budget while crying were amazing as well.

How do you feel about the price of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8?
No PS4, so the price doesn't matter, since I can't play it.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue officially announced for PS4, releasing in 2016
Disappointed that it's not for PS3 like the leak implied, but if BbS 0.2 is using KH3's graphics engine I guess it's understandable. Otherwise this is pretty cool. I really hope that BbS 0.2 is actually a game, and not a cutscene movie. Sure, it probably won't be a full length game, but I think a short game is better than a few hours of cutscenes. The X Back Cover interests me, as I really don't have much interest in the game, so it'll be nice to just get the important info. ...Also, Sony, would really love a backwards compatible PS4, would make my life much easier...

Official Super Mario Maker Thread
I've been playing this game all weekend. I've produced a grand total of about... 3 actually decent stages (and 1 kind of acceptable stage, but it's probably more luck based). I'll stop by later to share them. Edited them into the post. The only stage I've gotten any stars for is an amiibo focused one, Pikachu's Adventure. Just running through the stages is fairly easy, but I put a bunch of secrets into it. I tried to keep most of it seem Pokemon themed, but some of it is kind of a stretch. Overall I like the level, but there is one mistake. Right near the end the path is blocked and requires a P Switch. But it's pretty easy to mess up after hitting it, and depending on how fast you are (and how quickly a pipe decides to spawn it's item) you might get completely locked out from completing the level. I also made a Palutena themed level. I tried to style it after the Kid Icarus style platforming. I think its pretty decent, but I haven't been able to beat it yet... I mean, it's perfectly possible, I've beaten each segment in the Editor, but every time I try to do it "for real" I make a stupid mistake. Plus I'm just generally bad at platforming, so... EDIT: Pikachu's Adventure: CC1B-0000-0028-5ABD (My most "popular" one. Spent the most time building this one.) Pyropoint Keep: 10EF-0000-002A-9F0B (Tried my hand at making a castle stage. Pretty short, but a decent challenge.) Palutena's Journey: E67C-0000-0033-F747 (Newest one. Tried to emulate the platforming in Kid Icarus somewhat. I have a hard time clearing this. So hard a time that the final segment has been very toned down compared to what it originally was.) I have one more, but I don't really like it much. Hop on a Yoshi and into a Clown Car, and try to fly through to the end... Not so much challenging as cheap, but if you wanna try... Hazardous Skies: A9A3-0000-0025-83EC

How do you prefer split-screen multiplayer?
Horizontal is my preference. I'd rather have less vertical space than horizontal. I have a hard time adjusting to the vertical split; for example Mario Kart 8 really threw me off with that.

What do you think about multiplayer being included in Kingdom Hearts III?
Honestly, I would love something like 358's multiplayer. People can choose from a bunch of characters, and we have to complete an objective set in a section of a world. Maybe have some colosseum style fights too, and possibly buffed up versions of bosses. Would love to play something like that with my brother.
- Turns out Gandalf WAS planning on using the eagles!

New leak shows Kingdom Hearts 2.9 could be an upcoming title for PlayStation 3 & PlayStation 4, + possible Kingdom Hearts III info
I think it wouldn't be remiss to speculate that 2.9 would include the HD remaster of KH3D that has been hinted at. I would also have speculated a new version of X for consoles, if the smartphone version hadn't just been made and released. The hopeful side of me would hazard to suggest updated, playable versions of 358 and Re:coded, but I seriously doubt that. Since it mentions attraction flow, perhaps 2.9 is just a 3D remaster, but they're including a demo of KH3 to give more incentive to purchase it. Basically, the same strategy they used with the FF Type-0 remaster and its FFXV demo.

Official Tales of Xillia Discussion Thread
I remember the first Chronus fight (I think it was the first, anyway) gave me a lot of trouble. I was convinced it was a fight that the player was supposed to lose... until it gave me the game over screen. I don't remember any of the other bosses taking me by surprise like that, but it has been a while since I played. I think there was at least two fights where I had to go from Hard to Normal. It wasn't the final boss, though.

Tales of the Abyss Discussion Thread
For one of them, you need all the Catalyst weapons. These are not missable, this link gives all their locations: http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/929343-tales-of-the-abyss/answers/85925-where-can-i-find-all-of-the-catalyst-of-the-planetary-fonic (Do note that you need Mieu Wings and Mieu Fire 2, so if you don't have those you'll need to look up how to get them.) Once you have them all, follow these instructions: This is the hardest battle in the game, just an fyi. Also, the boss has the absolute best C.Core available to steal, so make sure you do that. The others are in the bonus dungeon. For that, I would consult this guide: http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/929343-tales-of-the-abyss/faqs/45706 It is a very good walk-through of the game, being the one I used to complete every side quest. It is for the PS2 version (I don't know if you have the PS2 or 3DS version), but in my experience it worked perfectly well with the 3DS version as well. The only downside is that it doesn't have a dedicated section to side quests, but you can search for the ones you want. In the guide do a search (if you don't know how to, press the control(crtl) and F keys at the same time), and enter "Replica Lab, The Abyss." You'll find everything you need to know.

New Phoenix Wright Game - NO USA RELEASE?
I'm not really into the series, but I believe you guys are thinking about Ace Attorney 6, which was recently announced (and yes, quickly got a localization announcement). However, I believe the thread is talking about The Great Ace Attorney (I think that was the title), which takes place in the series's past and features Phoenix's ancestor (or something along those lines). The Great Ace Attorney has, as far as I know, not been announced for localization, even though it was announce before Ace Attorney 6. EDIT: Yeah, the petition he linked to explicitly says its about the Great Ace Attorney. Which has not been announced for localization (glanced through the Siliconera articles about it, and such an announcement would definitely have been covered).

Official Tales of Xillia Discussion Thread
Graces does have free run, but it generally isn't the best option because it also has a side-step feature (don't remember what the game actually called it). Free run is a bit slow and consumes AC (and once you run out, free run gets REALLY slow and you can't do any other action until you stop and let the AC recharge). Side-stepping, however, lets you dodge an attack and then you can immediately start attacking again. Anyway, I'm okay with Zestiria being based upon Grace's system. Sure, I love the more traditional combat in Tales (that's what got me into the series, after all), but I don't mind having some variety.

College life
Yup, it is my first. The name is "Introduction to Computer Science". From what it sounds like, it's going to be a general overview of all the different parts of the field. I've only had two classes so far, but we've learned Binary and touched upon ASCII and Unicode. I believe that after this class is when things start to get more specific. I'm enjoying it so far, more than I probably should considering binary isn't the most exciting subject. Probably the only class I've actually learned something in so far. The interview doesn't have to be in person, but the professor says he would prefer if it was. I want to interview my high school government teacher, as I think he'd have some good insight on the subject we're covering (analyzing the idea of success and of the "American dream"). The only problem is that I'm not sure if I'll be able to arrange a meeting with him in time to get the rough draft done (its due next Friday). And the interview is pretty integral to the whole piece, so it'd be hard to do a first draft without that component. And yeah, the schedule is nice. ^_^ I don't think I'll be able to get weekends totally free, but it shouldn't be too bad.

College life
Well after some early week headaches (troubles with the online component of my Spanish textbook, my Computer Science textbook order cancelled and refunded, after saying it had been shipped for over a week), I think I'm doing okay now. I've got all the textbook stuff figured out, know where all my classes are, know where there will always be good parking, figured out all the online stuff for classes, and have a few people that I'm becoming friends with. I have an easy, 1 hour, 1 credit class on Tuesdays, and I just have the lab portion of my Computer Science course on Thursdays, so I'm able to spread out the homework I can do. Basically goes full day - easy day - full day - easy day - full day - weekend. So doing my homework on the easy days basically lets me have a decent amount of free time everyday. The only thing that's stressing me out anymore is that 1) I already have a essay to do and I need to interview someone for it and 2) my dad keeps telling me to get a job (I got work study money, so I need to get a campus job to earn it). Otherwise, I'm doing pretty well now.

"Tales of" Series Discussion Thread
Nah, that would entirely be up to the individual's opinion. From a purely technical standpoint, you might be able to say each new entry gets better. But just because the engine gets more "advanced" doesn't necessarily mean it's better from an enjoyment standpoint. For example, while Vesperia's combat system definitely improved upon the mechanics of the battle system, I still preferred Abyss because I liked each character having their own Overlimit bar and though FoF Circles where more interesting than the fatal strikes (that's what they're called, right?). As for story and characters, its all opinion on that end. For as many people who will praise the characters or story of a game, there will be those who hate on it. Sure, if someone meticulously combed through and analyzed the entire script of all Tales games, they'd likely find that some just flat out have better writing than others. But that doesn't mean that the one with the best writing will be the most enjoyed, just that it was the most technically impressive. Short Version: You could make the argument that the games get more "technically impressive," but overall it isn't a fact that Tales game is better than the one released before it. It's just up to opinion.

Did you have trouble with the ice cream mini game in Birth by Sleep?
It took me awhile to get used to how it worked, and once I got used to it I still pretty much hated it. As far as KH's rhythm minigames go, I thought KH2 Atlantica was better.

College life
So just had my first official day of classes (after four days of orientation), and I'm already surprised by how different things are. Pretty much all my assignments are done and/or turned in online, the professors included day-by-day plans for the class for the entire semester in the syllabus, got assigned homework and a paper on the first day, the irregularity of the schedule, and all the walking to different buildings. Seriously a huge depart from my high school. o_o I really like how class isn't every day, but I'm already hating the fact that I have an 8:30 AM class three times a week. On the other hand, the other two days I basically have free mornings, which is nice. I ordered one of my text books online and it hasn't arrived yet. And of course I absolutely NEED it this week. T_T Worst case scenario I'll have to get it from the school's bookstore for over $200. Also, don't like how some text books are just a stack of pages that you have to put in a binder. It wasn't even that much cheaper than a normal book.

Kanye West is running for president in 2020
This alone makes me gag at the notion of Kanye running for election. I mean, him running will never be much more than a joke anyway (if he's actually completely serious and starts campaigning, and is treated seriously, then I'll eat my foot), but the notion that Kim Kardashian would ever come near a role that important makes my skin crawl. x_x Of course, with how celebrity marriages go, it's possible they won't even be married in 2020. (No offense if you or anyone else actually likes Kim, but I can't stand her.)

Do you think CoM would've been better WITHOUT the card system?
I absolutely hated having to use cards to enter each new room in a world. Grinding to get map cards was my least favorite thing about the game. I could've tolerated the battle system if not for the terrible exploration. That said, I would've preferred the combat been more like KH1 or KH2. Yeah, maybe those games are a bit more on the button mashy side, but I find that to be much more fun than what CoM provided.
