Awesome! Thanks for the post, or else I would've never known.

Post your favorite Final Fantasy remixes!
EminaiSai replied to Mystics Apprentice's topic in General Discussion
Oh nice! My favorite is a Bohemian Rhapsody take on the opera in FFVI. It's well crafted and beautifully performed by the guys at OC remix. -
Wow, man, that's freaking awesome.
-
Ooooh, okay. Time to practice then!

Thanks! I attempted foreshadowing on the hand guard, so it looks wonky. ^^ Gotta keep trying though.

Thanks for the advice! I'm still struggling with hands, so I'll get more reference pictures next time. Also, I'm afraid my pen died so I couldn't ink it as much as I could've. Again, thank you for taking the time to critique. Also, for Ducky, yeah, now that I look at it more, Sora's eyes are little dim. The mouth is a bad habit of mine to put Chesire cat grins on everyone, so I'll watch out for that too.

The details are a little off on their weapons, but I'm still proud of it. Any suggestions to improve are greatly appreciated.

The relation between Terra and Xehanort revealed!

It's so convoluted and twisted that it might actually be canon. -
Anyone here take a Japanese language course?
EminaiSai replied to TwiliLord's topic in General Discussion
Japanese is a pain, yes, but don't grow too complacent after the first few classes. After all, the language course cannot teach you everything. Learning passively while watching anime is actually good - it helps train your ear for the language. If your college participates in any sort of foreign exchange, see if there are Japanese students there to practice with. Conversation skills are incredibly hard to develop if you don't speak it routinely. If there aren't any Japanese students, try to form a group with your classmates and practice conversations with them. My friends and I sometimes call each other see how long we last by speaking Japanese only. Over Facebook, we also message each other in Japanese. I also suggest you practice typing in Japanese. Any computer will have an option in their Language settings that asks if you want a Japanese keyboard. Start typing before you get to class to get your kanji and katakana typing speeds up to make your essays go by much easier. And the best advice I have for you - if you're thinking about any extended stay in Japan or plan to involve yourself in Japanese long-term, I suggest researching the Japanese culture and their lifestyle. This does not include anime, manga, or videogames. One of the main issues with people taking Japanese is that sometimes they don't realize their perception of Japan is Internet stereotype at best. In order for you to effectively communicate, you must understand their background and take it into consideration. For example, some phrases in anime like 行け!(pronounced 'ike', means GO!!!) uses a verb form known as plain command form. The plain command form is quite common in Japanese media, especially in manga and anime, since to conveys the right amount of urgency and power for a desperate situation. However, if you use that phrase in real life, it would be considered extremely forceful and rude. That's enough of my spew. Japanese is a wonderful language to learn despite all its challengers. Though, to be fair, English was actually my second language, and if I wasn't born in America, I would've never gotten the hang of it. So don't worry, you're fluent in one of the world's hardest languages already. (So many danged grammar exceptions and oddities...) -
He's happy to try out some new clothes!

It only felt short to me because, in my opinion, they waited until the last world to have all the important cutscenes. The Disney worlds are nice, but I guess I'm more used to KHII's format in which after you finish every world, there's some mysterious scene with the bad guys plotting. Yen Sid's scenes and the flashbacks essentially replaced these, but they contain information that was too...how should I put it... normal. Long story short, it only felt short because they reserved the traditional strange scenes more for the ending instead of spreading them out.

Post A Random Fact About Yourself!

I am double jointed in all my fingers and my elbows - hence why I can lick my elbow. -
Talking to my friends spawned this monstrosity. If 'half naked Terra in a tutu' disturbs you in any form or way, 'tis would be best not to click.

Oh goodness, the limited sanity in this picture. But I agree with you: Seph does have something against shirts.

I think I have a chronic doodling problem, so I might as well share the results of it. Only one piece for now! Terra and incarnations of him and Xehanort. I didn't feel like drawing Master Xehanort. Also, there was another drawing on the other side of paper that the scanner barely picked up on. EDIT: Added today's sketch. Warning: it's half naked Terra in a tutu.

I think my favorite is "Darkness - schwoop."

Image Kinda boring... with time -.-
EminaiSai replied to Daniel Black's topic in Random & Forum Games
Nice! The castle one sure looked like it took a while. -
Mmmm. I can chance a drawing of the boy. You want it traditionally colored or digital? EDIT: Here's a sketch of him. You want him to look like this? I want to make sure before I color him.

Thanks! Yours was good too! Your shading was so much smoother than mine. I have a tablet too, but I also have twitchy hands. -

EminaiSai replied to DChiuch's topic in General Discussion
Hey, sorry for jumping on this, but that attitude was me a couple months ago. I actually have good friends that go to art schools, and for the longest time it was really painful to see them make leap and bounds while I, in my opinion, didn't get better. The only thing that got me out of this slump was realizing that those friends aren't my competitors and that's there no 'time limit' when it comes to skill and ability. So you've been practicing since you're six, and at twenty you go 'How come no one likes it? How come my skill level's here while everyone's over there?' You have to realize that some people can't draw at all while someone else can crank out a da Vinci at age three. Also, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about your picture. You said you gave three hundred percent? Be freaking proud of it! That's your own three hundred percent, your own work and creation. One contest or a hundred can't even describe that picture's worth. If you gave it your all, that's all it matters. The pictures are there to make yourself happy, not cater to someone else. I do apologize if I sound preachy, but I've also been through this. It's not a healthy mentality. No one should think like that, and I do mean it. So please, be happy with yourself and your work. However, if you continue to ignore everyone's advice and post angry rants, I'm afraid there's nothing more we can offer. -
