Crisis Core and Before Crisis are the only prequels. Advent children, and dirge of Cerberus are sequels. I read that on the 20th anniversary, we will be getting a big surprise that is related to FFVII.

Maybe I got it confused with Crisis Core, and Square said we would get a VII remake but it's still not here so maybe we'll get a sequel
