It's a placeholder for sure. The only season 2.8 can release is the Winter so Nov-Dec. Reason why is because from late Summer to Fall period, all eyes will be on FFXV and marketing dedicated towards it. And Nov.-Dec. is perfect for holiday marketing towards toys and parents since it's part Disney.

DDD soundtrack is pretty modern. There would be no point in remastering it unless Square wants to spend unnecessary money on it.

Yeah this was done to sell more albums. I expect Kingdom Hearts Orchestra album in 2017 along with 2.8 album and KH3 album. And you will get suckered into buying all of them. Plus tickets to this concert and subsequent sequels

The touchpad controller excuse for a big cop out. They can creatively port the touchscreen controls using button combinations or the right annalog stick if they wanted to.They're just don't want to make an Xbox One version because it would probably sell poorly taking the account of Type 0 HD's sales. KH3's Xbone development is so far in they probably can't cancel that.

They always push it to the last minute in terms of the year. IDK WHY they do this, but OK. It is worrying to see "Now in Development" for three KH titles. Two of which aren't that difficult to do localization wise in terms of Square's ability (KH3 is the exception at this point). At least Square has other titles in the works for 2016.

Besides the bullshit reasoning of controller mapping being the MAIN reason. In reality Xbox is not gonna be a popular platform of choice for this type of game. Type 0 HD sold like garbage on Xbox 1. Was not worth the resources, time, and money to port it to Xbox, at least currently. THIS IS NOT A PS4 EXCLUSIVE. So as KH3 does reach it final development and resources are freed up we could see a KH 2.9 collection of sort going to Xbox/PS4 right before it releases, but this is assumption of the fact Square has goodwill and wants to catch the players up on that platform to their main game.

I don't think it's his call, but rather Square's if they feel it isn't worth whatever trouble they are having with localization. But I hope they do come through and present something soon.

The real reason is because the Osaka team has no experience with the engine. The Engine also isn't really much finished either. They are finishing it alongside finishing FFXV. The Luminous team is literally integrated and became apart of the FFXV team. Since their time is dedicated to that there would be no way to offer help for the engine during KH3 development time. Since they want to get this game out in a reasonable time. If Nomura were still FFXV director it probably might have been a different story possibily

Please the last mobile games that got announced for localization were all cancelled lol All their new mobile titles like Mobius and now Type-0 Online (which we were promised when it was Agito) is now "under consideration" They might silently cancel Unchained in the West and Nomura doesn't keep his word..again.. like old times guys

I'm hoping 2.8 would have a PC release too. They can easily port the touchpad functions to keyboard +moouse easily. And DS4 can work on PC if they support it. The only issue would be the basic 360 xinput gamepad though

It is suspicious though they haven't shown any cutscene or cinematic stuff yet. Just all gameplay and only gameplay in certain areas. Graphically the game could use work and they could still not be satisfied what is coming out so far to show up. Gameplay wise though they seem to be on the right track. It is clear though they are working hard as evidence that 2.8 and chi back cover don't really lol great on par with KH3 which means only a handful of folks as tasked to work on that as well as DDD HD

Yep Square has to make the final approval and they're not because they rather not go through the hassle of Ps2 coding again. They also don't have Ps2 coding for KH1 anymore or all the new licensing they have to do. Not worth it for them especially for the remixes. Though hopefully it continues to ring for them the growing demand of 1.5 and 2.5 on PS4. And hopefully they'll provide something after 2.8 releases and before Kh3 releases

Bombed in sales. Heard rumors that the PC/PS4 ports might come earlier because of it.

Seems like Square is continuing their streaming plan from dive in on just the plain App Store. All the game are coming over. Lightning Returns shouldn't be far now

Well the XIII team I think ported the games over to PC. So now that they are done with that they can focus on newer things
