  1. Been advocating this for a long time, but I want Kefka added to the mix, imagine walking through a poorly lit area and hearing his laugh out of nowhere. Also his intense hatred could be adapted so he hates the light.
  2. Probably going to be a Frozen world next, but I'm feeling a familiar world will be announced next and I'm feeling it's a return to Agrabah.
  3. It's no secret that a KH anime was planned ages ago and with the news that disney are in favour of a film regarding KH I sat down and thought of a few ideas, some of these are serious ideas and I'll clearly identify them and others are completely ridiculous, but hey a bit of fun doesn't hurt anyone right? Also in true KH style I came up with 13 ideas. I will briefly explain the concept of the film, then outline the positive and negatives, alas let the madness begin haha. 1) serious idea- a shortened version of the first game. I doubt the plot of the first game needs explaining, but this seems like a logical idea for a film. People who haven't played the games can enjoy a basic entry to the series ( like basic exists in this franchise) the negatives would be, we'd have to lose a few worlds in order to not make this film go on for an eternity, and it wouldn't feel fresh. I mean we've played the first game, chain of memories, re chain of memories, recoded, watched recorded, final mix, 1.5, 1.5 and 2.5, I mean come on this feels slightly over done by now! 2) silly idea- Kingdom Hearts: A Pluto Story- a film solely based on Pluto, a heartbroken dog on a mission to find his lost master, literally running away in Traverse Town, ending up who knows where and becoming a post dog by the end of the first game, actually I'd seriously watch this haha... Don't judge... Please. 3) serious idea and my ideal preference- The Fall of Radiant Garden- this event was alluded to in the first game and in the second game we see the recovery of Radiant Garden, but we haven't actually seen Maleficent and the heartless occupy the world, I'd start the film with Apprentice Xehanort forcing the others to fall to darkness ( we've seen this briefly), then with an absence of keyblade heroes ( BBS trio in peril and Sora and co to young) have the world fall, perhaps we can see Leon and the gang fleeing to Traverse Town, Kairi being sent to destiny Islands and all round destruction. The advantages would be we'd seen a missing plot piece of the series, the negatives would be less disney unless Scrooge mcduck is our main character and people would be confused if they didn't know the plot. It would be bold, but hey Rogue One took chances and imo worked. 4) silly idea- Kingdom Hearts the musical- an hour and. A half of endless singing, sora dancing and Donald having his own concert. Let's take Atlantica to another level people! Positives- might be a few catchy songs, kids would probably watch it in droves, negatives- Donald singing.... Let's move on 5) Serious idea- the events between CoM and KH2, this would be more of a sequel film if they follow the games path, however we've seen 358/2 days from Roxas' perspective, how about the other side, the struggle with Diz for his revenge, Riku to go to lengths to help Sora and Mickey's plans too. Positives, potentially we could see a moral struggle here between the characters, negatives I feel it would be dull and tbh whilst not unlikely, would be a waste of potential. 6) Silly idea- let's eat ice cream! Let's not have a film with cool fights, good plot, let's watch a bunch of characters eat sea salt ice cream for the film. Heck, we could have a master chef moment ( eating ice cream does not get tougher than this- got s feeling the brits will get this reference). Disney could release their own brand of ice cream and watxh sales shoot up, negatives, we'd probably be hungry the time this film finished 7) serious idea- the first keyblade war. This was my biggest let down with back cover, I wanted to see the war in action, make me appreciate the full devastation of the war and the aftermath. We didn't get this, so why not use a film for this? If done well this could be a good film, my positives and negatives would be similar to the fall of radiant garden. 8) silly idea- Jiminy Cricket- the Unsung hero! Follow Jiminy as he is forced to enter countless battles, take on Ansem, lose his memories and countiess other activities the poor cricket does to maintain the best journal in kingdom hearts, who needs the book of prophecies when we have Jiminy? 9) serious idea- this one is slightly unusual, but why not have a film about someone Falling to darkness ans exploring both the heartless and nobody, we could understand both concepts in either a philosophical or psychological concept and by the end make us appreciate our enemies. Positives, would be very abstract and would be cool to watch. Negatives, I doubt kids could understand this and well do we really want to have a conscience when we want to level up? Yes, yes we do now. 10) silly idea- Kingdom Hearts election time. It's election time on destiny islands and the candidates to become mayor must brave the disney worlds to woo voters, along the way the make promises they can't keep and make people feel like they'd rather have the mayor from Halloween Town. Positives, could actually work as a comedy film and wouldn't be plot related, negatives more politics and I studied politics too haha. 11) serious idea- Mickey's story. Mickey is disney's icon. He is also a main and beloved character. Now do you remember the portraits of Mickey's ancestors in Disney castle? This film could explore them and explain Mickey's ancestors and path to keyblade master. The positives, would enable new characters to be established, the return of classic characters, we could even have a black and white section of the film as homage to Steamboat Willie. We'd see the evolution of our beloved mouse and we would also see the change from timeless river to disney castle. Negatives, hard to see actually, I'm down for this. 12) final silly idea- Shakespeare Kingdom Hearts, let's send the gang to speaking olde english and performing a Shakespeare play. Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet we have a huge choice... 13) final serious idea- build up the next saga- explore either the next antagonist and their ambitions or tease us, perhaps have the key events of the film from a first person perspective and have this person assess the series. If it was down to me, I would not reveal the identity of the person, but through first person have us understand them as a character and make us want to know who they are! The positives, the series would progress onwards making People crave KH4, we'd have no new questions regarding the old saga and we could genuinely have fun and create new theories about who this person is, I'd want this film to be very mysterious and constantly make the audience work to pick up small clues. Negatives, first person the whole film could make awkward viewing, would square actually be up for this? Overall, this is mostly for fun, that being said this took ages to type up and I'd be intrigued to what others think of any of my ideas, the serious ones I'd be able to discuss more so and well the silly ones, excluding Pluto well... Haha
  4. we know we are getting less disney worlds than kh2 and Nomura has said it's likely we will know the worlds before it's release, it's highly likely another world reveal. I would personally keep a huge reveal secret until here, also due to the fact it will be winter time, this could be the moment to reveal Frozen too!
  5. As always Transcedent Key I respect your comments however I have a few queries myself to ask. First of all I'm not arguing about the Chi series, darkness did clearly win then and it would be redundant to argue against this. However, I'd argue against BBS being a complete victory for the darkness, technically the light did prevail due to the fact that the fate of those who fought for the light excluding Terra made an individual choice to meet their fate. Ven chose to defeat Vanitas and Aqua chose to sacrifice herself, whilst this is not a victory for them and their fate is cruel, the darkness I would argue did not direct this path. Also as players we know all is not lost due to the fact that we know Sora, Riku and Kairi will arise and claim their places in history, therefore some of the impact ( in my opinion anyrate) is slightly lost. I'll address KH1 and CoM in one paragraph, we know that the ambitions of darkness failed in both games ( yes, Xemnas succeeded in acquiring what was necessary for the Replica Program) and Sora not returning home is not the same as darkness winning. In relation to CoM, Sora made the decision to go into slumber, theoretically he could have remained awake and retained his memories, thus I wouldnt class this as a victory for darkness. Skipping forward with the series to 0.2 briefly, again we are dealing with an individual choice and the decision to retain the information by Yen Sid afterwards. Whilst darkness was an obstacle, it wasn't as direct as previous instalments and I actually enjoyed how the game focused more on Aqua's self struggle than some form of Xehanort for a change! In relation to what I'll dub the a organisation block ( we've already covered CoM), the darkness did indeed make ground especially in days, more so in Riku embracing the darkness to beat Roxas, but this is a rare moment where a darkness fights darkness and the concept of light did not cause this. In relation to KH2, the darkness did not have any huge victories, the Hollow Bastion forces achieved a hard fought victory and in the finale, the worlds supported Sora in order to defeat Xemnas. DDD for sure has set up the scene for KH3, Xehanort's failed attempt to Nort Sora has stripped his powers and has left him weaker and the overall plot has been revealed, this is the rare occasion where Time Travel has a positive aspect, due to it enabling the darkness to re-establish themselves and prepare for the final battle, however the forces of darkness did not fully assemble and they are still short, I'd say this is a draw due to both sides knowing what is needed in order to benefit themselves. Overall, I think we are more discussing different perceptions in what we class as a victory and a defeat. My overall desire is for their to be a moment/ duration of time where we can all say for certain that the ambitions of darkness have achieved a victory and there isn't a bailout for the light, add some desperation and make us appreciate the measures the lights need in order to achieve victory. Perhaps I was slightly ambitious in the manner I expressed for darkness to win! I just feel like we have a real opportunity to understand the concepts in more detail and outline how a ' dark' storykine doesn't need death!
  6. Hello again! It's been awhile, anyway after replaying the series again and reflecting on the trailers, my biggest question now is regarding the concept of light and is it strong enough to withstand the darkness? From the start of the series ( I'll start chronologically here with the Chi series), light has been viewed in a positive light and as both players and our characters we tend to favour the light and it is seen as worthwhile of protecting. In philosophical terms, the light represents peace, tolerance and I'd say justice. Whereas the forces of darkness are seen to bring ruin, destruction and misery to others. Throughoutnthe series, light always triumphs. Whether this is merely stopping the disney villains succeeding in their plans or the overall game with the organisation being defeated. The closest the darkness has been to winning is during BBS with the fate of the Ven, Aqua and Terra, but even then the darkness did not win as X blade was destroyed and Xehanort did not win outright. In relation to KH3, I think it's high time the light was challenged and perhaps even defeated ( temporaily as I'll explain). Whilst we can theorise that the seven guardians of light will be established and will probably win the new Keyblade War, I think the darkness should challenge the light like never before. I want one of either Maleficient and Pete or Xehanort to be successful. I'll explain how and why each scenario could work and how light would be challenged. Let's start off with the obvious scenario and that's Xehanort. The darkness could challenge light in numerous ways, either act as a barrier to prevent the lights forming and require a change of tactics ( say one of the suspected lights cannot be saved in time for the war or despite Merlin's best efforts, Lea or Kairi isn't ready) then the darkness would have the upperhand, maybe prompting Sora to take extreme measures to bring Roxas back? Another way the Xehanort scenario could work would be that Xehanort' wins and the lights are defeated. My biggest fear would be an imbalance and I would not advocate this. However, let's say the X blade is formed and briefly darkness is in control, how would light retaliate? We don't need to necessarily kill any of the lights of to have a ' dark' story, but if the war tilts towards the darkness, then in the finale of the game, we could see how light responds to facing defeat and make the victory seem hard won and justified. Maleficent would be my preferred choice to tilt things towards the darkness. We know she's looking for the box and I'm banking on her finding it. The rest of this scenario depends on what is inside the box... I don't think it will be the fragments of the X blade as that would be too obvious and it wouldn't make sense why Xehanort didn't try and find it througout his master hood. I'm leaning towards it either being related to the Book of Prophecies or something unexpected ( perhaps the MoMs heart?) thus when Malefiecient finds it the contents will be a surprise and present a new threat to the light. We know she isn't actively aiming to get in Sora's way, which is why having her be successful is preferred. She would present Sora with a new challenge and one which must be dealt with, consider it another arc in the game. This would be a diversion from the battle with Xehanort and would be unexpected to both sides. It would be highly unlikely Xehanort had precautions in place for such an event and the light would be forced to act rashly to prevent her succeeding. Also from a plot perspective, this could be how the series continues, let's say the box opens and darkness consumes a world and during a heated battle a single heart escapes somewhere, alluding towards someone or Maleficient summons future characters to our world and one escapes and awaits their own destiny.... Either way, the concept of light needs to be challenged and darkness needs to have momentum. If the light wins easily, then the threat of darkness is diminished. we know the game will be darker, and people will suspect deaths, but I feel as if darkness is handled well then light can be challenged without death. In my opinion we need to see light close to expiring, we need to see those on the side of light make rash decesions and feel hopeless, likewise we need to see darkness in it's glory, if we're going with a reason for light to win, have darknes become overconfident and cause it's own defeat. To conclude, the series has expanded from having the light triumph relatively easily, it's high time the concept of darkness provided a true challenge and one that should have an element of success.
  7. This is where I admit firstly, be careful what you wish for, ages ago I said I would like to learn about character backgrounds etc and then the Chi secret ending happened and Nomura's new artwork. Now I like Ventus and I do want to see how he is woken up. However, by potentially making him originate from the Chi era, we might as well slam our heads against a wall. I'll leave it to others to discuss whether Ven is a Dandelion or due to being in a comatose state is a ' sleeping vessel'. However, if Ven does originate from the Chi era then my biggest potential issue is that Time Travel can have even more of an importance. In order to time travel you need to have a version of yourself back in that time period, for many this was reassuring as this excluded Sora from being able to travel years in the past to participate in the first keyblade war etc. Now, if Ven is from that era then it becomes plausible that he at least will be able to travel back to his original era. I have nothing against referencing Chi characters in KH3, but if Nomura chose to go down this path, it would only complicate matters even more. I mean, events are fixed in history, so nothing major could be changed, but it would feel a cheap cop out If this route was used in KH3 IT just makes back cover a lot more interesting
  8. One thing that had me wondering afterwards, was the time period of the secret episode. Is this our Maleficient or like we had in DDD, sleeping world versions or characters? If we say it is our one and I believe it is, are we now approaching our own time period? It would be interesting if this was happening parallel to KH3. Now, instead of having answers, we have more questions.
  9. For me personally it's very ambiguous. At a quick glimpse I'd associate the destroyed world to that similiar to the Keyblade Graveyard and the demons to be the common foes such as the heartless etc. However I feel that's too obvious; the king of all Shushus suggests this dude is the main antagonist and maybe Xehanort is merely a demon? I have a feeling; this isn't as clear cut as one imagines, and actually this could be a decent way of expanding the series. Have various ' Demons' attempt to destroy the light. Maybe Xehanort is the first of a multitude before we take on this dude? Also what If he isn't from the Kingdom Hearts universe? Going a bit Yuuzhan Vong here ( alien invaders from another galaxy in the old Star Wars canon), but what if he originates from outside the known universe and is merely trying to destroy and move on? It would be certainly Interesting and would be an achievement in making the series more complex haha
  10. Before I dive into this thread: I'd like to apologise for being absent for so long ( university etc). Anyway now back to the topic. Today I'd like to discuss memories and illusions in 0.2 and express what I feel the connections will be to the plot and gameplay. I predicted on the day of trailer as well as others did that Terra was a mere illusion and wasn't real. Now I feel that 0.2 will centre around this completely and will lead to certain revelations. For some reason; I have a ' layers of fear' feeling for this game. Where the deeper we go ( the more worlds we visit) the clearer the picture will be to us; however the character Aqua will dive deeper into despair ( I hope the pun was appreciated). If this is the case; Castle of Dreams will end with Aqua moving on from the Terra illusion to what I feel strongly will be the Enchanted Dominion. I have a feeling here; we'll see Aqua see Ventus similiar to how she saw him in BBS. He'll fade away; Aqua will become more and more disillusioned and we'll see the effects of being in the RoD. I'd also have Aqua visit Destiny Islands ( before Sora saves the world) and have her explore the islands in darkness and then have her hear Sora and Riku in child form ( as she remembers them) before seeing them fade away too. By this stage Aqua will be close to being mad; with the memories not being safe and her seeing events differently. This is where I'd have her run into Mickey; where we see her thinking he is an illusion and despite Mickey's attempts to save her see her run away. I'd then end the game; with Aqua preparing to wander another world; when all of a sudden she spots a figure in an organization coat walking deeper into that world and have the player know it's a real person; but have Aqua remain convinced she is only seeing Illusions and dismissing the hidden identity. End the cutscenes with Mickey saying she needs to be found and that before Aqua left him she was convinced the secret to rescuing her friends was somewhere to be discovered. Whilst slightly dark; I'd have no issues with 0.2 following this pattern and it would be unique in the series and would prepare us for a more dark KH3
  11. I have a feeling they'll big up the memories thing; so expect from what I gather the Princess worlds from bbs
  12. It would be a revelation to say the least. Also Birth By Sleep would be a bit bizarre; with Xehanort essentially saying ' by the way mate; I'm going to turn your apprentice to embrace the darkness; cause another one to be trapped in the RoD and cause the other to end up in a deep a slumber and by the way I kill you.' Surely if that was the case; every if events are fixed etc Eraqus would attempt something else.
  13. I think it's a ruse; think about it; if KH3 was confirmed in any capacity it would have completely have eclipsed anything that 2.8 trailer had to offer. Also at Square's event; we know Kingdom Hearts will be there; 2.8 will be playable. However I don't believe 2.8 will be the only game there. In fact; fair play to Square; they lower the hype for the game then can totally surprise everyone. That trailer was so good it was E3 worthy; there has to be a reason why it was shown beforehand.
  14. At first glimpse I thought we were looking at the Castle of Dreams during the town section; however the uncanny resemblance to the settings we saw in the back cover section seemed to much to be a coincidence. The houses seemed to maintain that continental European look and the inclusion of the fountain for me makes me firmly believe this is Daybreak Town. This would be a nice throwback to KH1 where worlds falling into darkness ending up in the RoD and also it would be a fantastic parallel from seeing an active world to an eery world inhabited by heartless.
  15. It would also be a good ' insurance' bail out for Mickey. If she has ended up like this; it gives Mickey a valid reason why he hasn't mentioned it before or why she stayed behind. A dark game in the Realm of Darkness; why not?
  16. He did have a similiar attitude to Braig; however I think he is a man who is extremely confident of what will happen and knows he will win. From what we have seen he is as fantastic manipulator; an isolated figure and intelligent. I'm intrigued about him a lot; I knew there would be someone who would make us think afterwards.
  17. Firstly, what a trailer. Every single detail was perfect and I honestly have no complaints; however one detail in particular made me think of this theory. Has Aqua become delusional? Summary- Aqua has been trapped in the RoD after the events of BBS and at the end of the snippet of 0.2 in the trailer; we hear Terra call her name and walk down the stairs towards her. However; is there more than meets the eye and is he in fact imaginary? If people without freaking out listen to trailer again; Aqua talks about another night under the stars with her best friends then all of a sudden Terra appears. I do not think this is a coincidence. When we last saw Aqua in the RoD she was in fact close to giving up when both Ventus and Terra's keyblades came to her aid. I think the Terra we saw is a manifestation from Aqua's mind. I think that when she is in a dire situation; she imagines her friends being there to gove her strength. I wouldn't even rule out a Ventus appearance either. If this is this the case then this makes Aqua's isolation even heartbreaking and could result in her thinking her meeting with Mickey is imaginary and perhaps explain why she didn't leave with him
  18. Coming from the people that thought Twilight Town was Agrabah ( I kid you not); Rock Titan appearing in Tangled world and the butcher of pronunciation; I'm anticipating their trailer analysis today. Back to the point; it's more of an insurance job to include games they think will ' likely' appear. That way if it doesn't appear they don't look like they don't know what they are doing ( irony) and if it does appear, then they look good.
  19. with a few hours to go for the new trailer; I was wondering what will be the ' big surprise' this time around? In every trailer there is always something that blows everyone away; whether it be a specific transformation; shot lock system being reintroduced etc and I expect today to be no different. So in anticipation; I have created a few ideas that would definitely stand out and I will explain why and state how likely this could happen. However; as far as I'm concerned before we begin nothing DDD throws at us will have this effect as the game is old and even if new content ( unlikely) is announced it will not be on the same level as Back Cover or 0.2 Back Cover 1- the biggest shock for me would be a glimpse/reveal of the Master of Master's, our knowledge is limited and compared to the Foretellers ( I'll mention them in a second) we don't even know what this character looks like. So even a silent cameo would be a shock. Out of 10 of this being realistic I'm leaning towards a 2/10. 2) Foretellers being revealed- It would stand out to see the transformation from the mobile game to a full fledged Kingdom Shader rendition and if we can hear english voice acting then even better. I'm ranking this at a 8/10 as I see this being a very realistic scenario and would be disappointed of we didn't 0.2 1) gameplay- anything flashy of the gameplay would stand out and would answer the question regarding the hybridisation element; if we see the gameplay during the ' dark' Castle of Dreams then that would be a great any of displaying the world of this game. I'm ranking this at 9/10 as I'm fully anticipating this 2) inclusion of Mickey meeting Aqua- if we see any cutscenes I'd love to see Mickey's meeting with Aqua before quickly flashing away before anything is said. Any inclusion of Mickey in the RoD would be a huge surprise and seeing as this is his story of meeting Aqua it does make sense; however I'm ranking this at 5/10. Overall 1) release date- this doesn't need explaining and if this happens it will definitely be a shock- I'm ranking this at a 6/10 due to this being more hopeful atm. 2) KH3- Anything of KH3 would be the icing of the cake; however seeing as thee focus is 2.8 today I'm not leaning on it; I still think it will happen at E3; but not today so I'm ranking it at 2/10.
  20. That's what I'm seriously banking on; maybe a glimpse at this master of master's bloke too
  21. To everyone going have a great time and on a personal level anyway; your work is vastly appreciated so thank you
  22. whatever we get we should take gratefully; however if I was nitpicking; I'd like the following- starting with 3 1) another boss other than the rock Titan- This guy is popping up more often the Roy Conli 2) leave Twilight Town/show another area- as I've always said I've been asking for a trailer consisting of Radiant Garden for what feels like a lifetime; seeing the same area of TT is just mundane now 3) footage of San Fransokyo- doesn't really need expanding 4) world reveal- anything surprising ( The reveal of Frozen/Treasure Planet/Wreck It Ralph would be fantastic ( well 2/3 Frozen Mehr) they wouldn't be ' that' surprising) chuck out a Robin Hood/Atlantis/Black Cauldron reveal at us. 5) more information- more of an update nothing special For 2:8: 1) new trailer with english actors- show us a snippet of Chi Back cover in English; thus confirming the actual VAs for the role 2) 0.2 gameplay- doesn't have to be long; but show us Aqua fight some heartless in the confirmed Castle of Dreams world 3) DD footage- we've played the game so nothing could surprise us I highly doubt and there are no spoilers here 4) more information- about the development/mechanics etc 5) release date- look; even the most optimistic person shouldn't expect kh3 this year; but 2.8 is highly likely as this game is coming out in the next 6 months and finally... Build anticipation- play on the fact TGS isn't that long away; say along the lines of I hope you enjoyed what you have seen; we have much more to reveal in the near future etc
  23. I can sympathise with the person you quoted with a lot; I did appreciate the adventure feel to one and two were everything wasn't interconnected and how a sentence said by someone had little meaning then; but 10 years late have huge significance. However; every series develops and grows and I have enjoyed the series overall ( personally not a fan of Days; despite Roxas being one of my top 3 characters). If I'm being open; the aspects I don't like is how everyone is gaining keyblades rapidly. I draw parallels to the Original trilogy in Star Wars; we didn't know much about the force ( no midichlorian rubbish!); we weren't swamped with Jedi/Sith and this was an element of wonder and mystery. The older entries in KH were like that; we knew of 5 keyblade wielders and that seemed ok. Now drawing parallels to the Prequel Trilogy in stories; an overload of new information; too many characters displaying the force; the mystery was lost. Whilst Kingdom Hearts hasn't lost that by any means; realistically we are looking at 20 keyblade wielders plus Young Eraqus; possibly the foretellers and even Xehanort's master, we have gone into overload sadly. I even liked the idea of the keyblade being reduced in number after the original keyblade war due to the fact it made us imagine what the past was like without having to witness it. I by no means have an issue with the series; and I do wish it continues and grows in each new instalment; however I can sympathise that an element of mystery has been lost. I mean think back to old days of the series; who honestly would have considered and anticipated time travel being an element and an important element if that?
