Do you think the Reference Mark ※ means anything?
So, it turns out, the official English translation replaced the reference mark with a blank space like this: ____ "a ____ world." - The Master of Masters

- Dark Inferno χ has got to be one of the shadows/Darknesses, Or at least connected to them somehow
The scarf thing that the normal Dark Infernos have is more red while the Dark Inferno χ's scarf thing is more yellow. So, if Ephemer is connected to them somehow, it's most likely to the normal Dark Infernos instead of Dark Inferno χ. KHUχ is connected to KH3 in many ways, not just this one example. There was the whole section where Ephemer and the light from the Keyblade wielders of the past helped in the Keyblade Graveyard as Sora rode on top of their Keyblades.- Dark Inferno χ has got to be one of the shadows/Darknesses, Or at least connected to them somehow
"The darkness that erupted out of Ventus's heart and turned into an aggressive Heartless. But the voice that was heard at the time intimated that it was "darkness" itself. What did it mean..."- Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance will forever be changed by the finale of Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross]
Yeah, it says she has black hair in the Kingdom Hearts Series Character Files book.- Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance will forever be changed by the finale of Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross]
Those are Nightmare Dream Eaters, not Spirit Dream Eaters. And we actually currently have no reason to believe that Spirit Dream Eaters other than Chirithys can turn into Nightmare Dream Eaters. In χ Back Cover, The Master of Masters says that if Spirits get consumed by malice/darkness, they turn dark and become a Nightmare, but he was only talking about the Chirithys in that moment. And Chirithys were the only Dream Eaters that existed at that time. It's currently unknown where all the Nightmare Dream Eaters we see and fight in KHDDD come from/how they are made. I have a theory though. "See you in another dream." Dark Chirithy said this way back in the original KHχ. And we all assumed he was talking about seeing us again in KHUχ because we were brought to the Unchained realm AKA "a world made of dreams." We all waited for Dark Chirithy to show up in KHUχ, but he never did. And we learned that we didn't go to "a world made of dreams," we went to data worlds. But now, at long last, the Dandelions have finally gone to "a world made of dreams." Because their hearts are now sleeping and they are now Spirit Dream Eaters due to forming together with their Chirithys. And now that the Dandelions are in a world made of dreams, Dark Chirithy can still fulfill his promise of returning in another dream. And the way that he returns is in the form of Nightmare Dream Eaters.- Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance will forever be changed by the finale of Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross]
The Dream Eaters are both the sleeping hearts of the wielders as well as the wielders' Chirithys. We see the wielders' hearts and the Chrithys form together to create the Dream Eaters. The Chirithys do this to protect and watch over the sleeping wielders' hearts. It can sort of be seen as the Chirithys turning into protective shells over the hearts.- Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance will forever be changed by the finale of Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross]
The entire experience of playing KHDDD will now forever be different due to the reveal about Dream Eaters in the finale of KHUχ. I'll never be able to look at Dream Eaters the same way again. And I love that. We literally collect dead/"sleeping" children like they're Pokémon. That's dark as hell. I guess we now know why they're called "Spirits." Instead of seeing them as cuddly and cute animal creatures, I now look at them with sorrow. These were our friends and companions. Our fellow Dandelions. It makes so much more sense now why we see a scene of Ventus smiling at the end of KHDDD when Sora goes back to the realm of sleep to greet his Dream Eaters. And why one of the most prominent things Ventus remembers from his long time in Sora's heart is seeing "weird animal creatures." I don't even want to think about what the Dream Pieces from KHDDD implies. Collecting and putting together pieces of dead kids? Kingdom Hearts really went there. And when your Dream Eater loses all of its health in KHDDD, it'll permanently die unless you quickly run up to it and save it. Pain. Just pain. EDIT: I'd like to clarify that the Spirit Dream Eaters aren't just the sleeping hearts of the wielders. They are the sleeping hearts of the wielders formed together with their Chirithys. Their Chirithys form together with their sleeping hearts to protect and watch over them. It can sort of be seen as the Chirithys turning into protective shells over the hearts. And that's what Spirit Dream Eaters are. Chirithys and the sleeping hearts of the Dandelions merged into one.- Kingdom Hearts isn't about light or darkness, it's about love
Other than the series always thematically showing that love is the ultimate answer and power, even more so than the power of light or darkness, here are some quotes: From Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep: Aqua: "A pure heart filled with light... It's strange, the Master taught me darkness needs to be destroyed. But how, if not with light?" Fairy Godmother: "Oh, my dear, you're too young to know. Experience more things, and you'll find the answer. Just trust in your dreams." (Fairy Godmother implying the only way to defeat darkness other than with light is with love.) From Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep: Yen Sid: "I will tell you what your friend needs right now. It is not your protection. He needs you to believe. You see, Ventus's heart hangs in the balance. It sleeps in the place between light and darkness. From all I can perceive, that means he will be looking for a friend--one who believes in him, to show him the way home. Just as long as you love him...then Ventus will be able to find you when he wakes. He can follow that love back to where he belongs--the realm of light.” (Yen Sid implying the balance between light and darkness is love and that love is the only thing that can lead Ventus' heart home.) From Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories: Riku: "What are you making me choose now?" DiZ: "Between the road to light and the road to darkness." Riku: "Neither suits me. I'm taking the middle road." DiZ: "Do you mean the twilight road to nightfall?" Riku: "No. It's the road to dawn." (Riku not choosing light or darkness, but choosing what he calls "dawn.") From Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance: Riku (to Ansem, Seeker of Darkness and Young Xehanort): "I walk the road to dawn!" Riku (to Ansem, Seeker of Darkness): "Consume the darkness, return it to light.” Young Xehanort (to Riku): "I don't know how you did it, but you really have found a way to trap darkness inside your heart. And a boy who's immune to darkness is of no use to us." (Riku reaffirming that he wields both light and darkness, and that he turns the darkness into light. That is the state he calls "dawn." And Young Xehanort confirming that by walking the road to dawn, Riku has somehow become immune to darkness.) From Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance: Data-Ansem the Wise: "The heart has always been quick to grow. Each exposure to light, to the natural world, to other people, shapes this most malleable part inside of us. Nobodies are not different from us in that manner. Sora was the only one able to return to his human form without destroying his Nobody. That is a statement to the love in his heart for other people, and the bonds that tie them together. Perhaps...he has the power to bring back the hearts and existences of those connected to him—to recreate people we thought were lost to us forever. Our most precious treasures—even an empty puppet—the trees of the forest, and the petals on the wind—there are hearts around us everywhere we look. And it does not take superhuman powers to see them. Surely we remember as children the way our hearts made everything seem so shiny, and perfect. Sora has a heart like that—uncorrupted, willing to see the good before the bad. When he sees the heart in something, it then becomes real. When a connection seems broken, he may have the power to mend it. He has touched countless hearts, he has accepted them, and he has saved them. And some of those hearts have never left him—whether they fell into darkness or were trapped there—whether they sleep in the darkness of Sora's heart, or were welcomed into its warmth—they can be saved. All Sora needs to do is be himself and follow wherever it is that his heart takes him. It is the best and the only way." (Data-Ansem the Wise saying that Sora's uninhibited undying love for people and his willingness to always see the good before the bad in anyone or anything is the ultimate answer that could solve everything and save everyone.) From Kingdom Hearts III: Ventus: "I didn't ask for this. To be sifted apart nice and neat. We should be free to choose. Not just light, not just darkness. We decide what we are." (Ventus implying light and darkness are choices and you can choose to be both or neither.)- I realized that they send in the Replica for Roxas to the Keyblade Graveyard in KH3 the same way King Mickey arrives in The World That Never Was in DDD
Here's King Mickey arriving in The World That Never Was in Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. Here's the Replica for Roxas being sent to the Keyblade Graveyard by Ienzo, Even, Ansem the Wise, etc. in Kingdom Hearts III. (Which Roxas' heart comes out of Sora and then goes into the moment it arrives.) It's the exact same method of travel/arriving at a world. They have the same animation of a sparkle in the sky and then a beam of light coming down from where the sparkle was, transporting a person or object to a world.- The Future of Kingdom Hearts & What Kingdom Hearts Has Always Been About
What terms did they use? Because I'm sure they used much more typical terms than "unreality."- The Future of Kingdom Hearts & What Kingdom Hearts Has Always Been About
That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying if this was a more typical and mainstream series, such as Marvel, they would just simply call it another universe to make it simpler for the audience even if it's not an entirely accurate descriptor. If this was a more mainstream series, such as Marvel, I definitely think they would use terms such as "dimensions" or the "multiverse" or whatnot to make things easier for the mainstream audience even if those terms aren't really accurate. But, I guess a more mainstream series probably wouldn't even have concepts as crazy as unreality in the first place. Multiverses and alternate dimensions are already a hard concept for most people to grasp, but I guess unreality is even more of an out there concept in comparison.- The Future of Kingdom Hearts & What Kingdom Hearts Has Always Been About
That's not what he says though. The direct quotes are: "Where voices can't reach... The other side of our world, of reality... Unreality? A fictional world? I'm afraid such mysteries are beyond our comprehension." "Yes, perhaps. The three realms of our world—light, darkness, and between—these are all places we can travel to because they are on "our side." This also includes the worlds of memories, data, and dreams. If I am correct, then this "other side" of our world from which voices cannot reach must be a place outside of our reality. Namely, it must be unreality, or fiction. But...that is the extent of our knowledge." He never calls it a realm or says its "like" a realm. There is their side of the world which consists of realms, and then there is the other side of reality/the world. When I said "Ansem the Wise states it's not a realm like the realms of light, darkness, between, dreams, memories, or data, and is instead "the other side of our World."" I meant "Ansem the Wise states it's not a realm such as the realms of light, darkness, between, dreams, memories, or data, and is instead "the other side of our World."" I was using the word "like" the same way you would use "such as." I was using it as a way to say it's not a realm and is instead something else. I wasn't using it as a way to say it's not a realm similar to other realms. The way people use the word "dimension" in media and stories is completely different than what the actual definition is. I think it's pretty obvious what I was saying. I was saying that instead of calling other worlds or universes or "other sides of our world" or whatever things such as "alternate dimensions", "other universes", "multiverses", etc. like usual mainstream stories and media do, Kingdom Hearts instead chooses to use words to describe things like that that aren't typically used in stories and media. I'm saying the easy thing to do to make things easiest for the audience to understand would be to just use those typical terms that most stories and media use such as "alternate dimensions" and whatnot, but Kingdom Hearts chooses not to. And I explained why I think it chooses to do that and why I love that about it.- The Future of Kingdom Hearts & What Kingdom Hearts Has Always Been About
We don't know enough about the nature of this new realm to say what for sure? That they used the term "unreality" instead of "alternate dimension?" But, that's what they literally did. Instead of using the term "alternate dimension," they used the terms "unreality" and "fiction." Also, it's not a realm. Ansem the Wise states it's not a realm like the realms of light, darkness, between, dreams, memories, or data, and is instead "the other side of our World."- Mickey's Mystery (backstory)
He acted as if he was from there to protect the World Order. It's explained right when Sora arrives at Country of the Musketeers. Sora is confused as to what world he's in because it's not Disney Castle but Mickey is there for some reason. Mickey tells Sora to shh when he's about to mention his Keyblade, realizes that Sora is also from another world, and tells Sora he's only in this world being a Musketeer because he's currently working on a problem. And then Sora realizes he's just in a world that Mickey has visited before. Sora: "I'm not in Disney Castle, and that world isn't one of the one's that's asleep. I don't get it." Mickey: "You okay? What's wrong?" Sora: "Oh, um... I was wondering... where I was?" Mickey: "Hmm? Where'd you get that key?" Sora: "This? It's a Keyb—" Mickey: "Shh. I know. You came from another world, right?" Sora: "Huh? Uh, yeah." Mickey: "My name's Mickey. I'm workin' on a problem. That's why I'm in this world bein' a Musketeer." Sora: "Hmm... So, am I in a world the King visited that I don't know about— a world that's trapped in sleep somewhere?"- The Future of Kingdom Hearts & What Kingdom Hearts Has Always Been About
Not really sure what you're saying.- Can someone please tell me what these pink spike balls are. They were in khddd when riku entered Sora's dream.
They're portals that people who have the Power of Waking can create to enter someone's heart/dream. Riku creates one at the end of Dream Drop Distance to go into Sora's heart/dream to wake him up. Inside his heart/dream took the form of Destiny Islands. And Sora creates one at the end of KH3 to go into Xehanort's heart which took the form of Scala ad Caelum.- Mickey's Mystery (backstory)
Country of the Musketeers is not the same world as Timeless River/Disney Town/Disney Castle. Country of the Musketeers is just one of the many worlds that Mickey visited on his adventures.- kingdom Hearts theory. xahanort is the 1st nobody created.
I think it's possible for Xehanort to be a Nobody that has grown a heart, but he's not the first Nobody to have been created. Nobodies have always existed for as long as Heartless have existed. Which is way before Xehanort's time.- The Future of Kingdom Hearts & What Kingdom Hearts Has Always Been About
People often ask why Kingdom Hearts uses terms like "hurt" instead of "pain" or "unreality" instead of "alternate dimension." Or why they use the terms "light" and "darkness" so much. The in-universe explanation for this is that the Kingdom Hearts World works very differently than our universe and has its own set of labels and rules for many things. The real world meta explanation for this though is that Tetsuya Nomura seems to like Kingdom Hearts to sort of establish its own labels and rules for things. And there's a reason why. For example, they're now calling the other side of the World that Yozora comes from "unreality" and "fiction" rather than just saying its another dimension or something. Getting used to these terms and the way they're used can be odd and jarring at times, however that's kind of the point as these unique terms sort of make you think and wonder more about these concepts. Something more mainstream such as Marvel uses more common terms such as other "dimensions" and the "multiverse" to bring characters and worlds together that usually wouldn't make much sense to bring together to make it make more sense and easy to understand for the audience so they can just focus on the characters and worlds that are being brought together instead of focusing on how weird and incomprehensible the concepts of other realities and universes really are. Kingdom Hearts likes to use words such as "unreality" and "fictional worlds" to put more focus on what these concepts actually mean and how weird and incomprehensible these concepts truly are. Instead of shying away from how philosophically weird and trippy some concepts are in order to make things easier for the audience to understand, Kingdom Hearts fully leans into it. So, if they were to just use the term "pain" instead of "hurt," you would think you understand what they're talking about completely and not take a closer look at the concept being talked about, while using the term "hurt" makes you take a closer look and examine what the concept of pain/hurt truly means and makes you wonder if you even do understand what it really means. There are concepts in life that we take for granted and think we know what they truly mean just because we've heard the words and the definitions of the words our entire lives, so we don't really take the moment to really think about it philosophically. If they used the word "pain" it would've just become another sentence that passes by and gets replaced by the next sentence without you taking a deeper look into what's being said. I remember as a young kid playing Kingdom Hearts and some of these odd terms would really make me think more about the underlying philosophy and existentialism of it all rather than just focusing on the more generic aspects that overlie it all. People often make fun of Kingdom Hearts for these odd terms and how often some terms like light or darkness are used, but I really do think there's a point to it. The way these terms are used might seem silly in a conventional way, but Kingdom Hearts has never been about thinking conventionally and has always been about establishing and following its own rules. The stuff with Yozora and Quadratum has made me the most interested in the series' future than I have been in a while. The mystique and intrigue of it is on par with after I saw KH1's secret ending for the first time. It's got the same vibes of what got me so hooked on the series so much as a young kid in the first place. It even brings back the same KH1 opening quote, bringing it back to the roots of what made the series so interesting and stand out. The theme of existential confusion that underlies the whole series. "I've been having these weird thoughts lately, like is any of this for real, or not?" "None of this... makes sense to me." Nomura has even said that the KH1 opening quote is what got KH approved in the first place. Q9: What can you say about the secret boss & episode? Nomura: "The secrets contain my thoughts about the future of the series, but with the information out at present I don't think you'll be able to guess any of it. Some parts of the battle ended up very different from what I requested. But it surprised me in a good way, so take it as it is." Q10: Why did lines from KH1 appear in the final trailer? Nomura: "Those were lines I'd long wanted to put together if I ever got the chance. You may not understand, but the inclusion of those lines is what got the world of Kingdom Hearts approved. There is no mystery to solve this time, they stand at the doorway." While many aspects of the story weren't planned by Nomura in advance, I definitely believe there has always been underlying themes and meanings that Nomura has rooted in the series and stayed consistent with and has had plans for ever since the first game. And now that the main story that has been going on with Xehanort is finally complete, it seems like he will finally bring out those underlying themes and meanings in full force and bring them to the forefront rather than in the background. Things are going to start getting really existential, meta, and trippy going forward. And I think this is what Nomura has planned for, hoped for, and always wanted to do since the first game. And I think those quotes of his prove that. The ongoing story has concluded. The ongoing mysteries have now been concluded. The time has come for the underlying themes of existential confusion, hearts, fake worlds, data worlds, dreams, other versions of yourself, not knowing what is real, etc. that have been built up and built up to finally explode and to get what Kingdom Hearts has always truly been about. "There is no mystery to solve this time, they stand at the doorway."- 2017-12-19 Official PlayStation Magazine UK Issue 144
- RUMOR: PlayStation Official Magazine UK claims Kingdom Hearts III is "split" between Sora and Riku's perspectives and will feature a Fantasia world
In the January 2018 issue of PlayStation Official Magazine UK published back in December, and the February issue of PlayStation Official Magazine - Australia published recently, Kingdom Hearts III was featured in the Previews section. In its short blurb, it is claimed that the game is split between the perspectives of both Sora and Riku, and that a world based upon the Disney movie "Fantasia" will be present in the game. Other bits of information that we already knew about it were also stated, such as needing to stop Xehanort from starting another Keyblade War, a Toy Story world and a Tangled world being present, Drive Forms returning, wall-running, and more. You can view the Kingdom Hearts III section from the magazine in the album below: Kingdom Hearts series director Tetsuya Nomura has hinted at a second playable character in Kingdom Hearts III before, and has more recently confirmed a second playable character in the game, but it is currently unknown as to what character this is. The alleged claim of the game being split between the perspectives of Sora and Riku seems to hint at the fact that Riku could be the second playable character in Kingdom Hearts III. But, as this is only stated in PlayStation Official Magazine UK and PlayStation Official Magazine - Austrailia, and not stated by Square Enix or Tetsuya Nomura, or accompanied by any interview or direct statement, it is difficult to judge the validity of these statements. As for the comment about the Fantasia world, a Fantasia-themed world titled "Symphony of Sorcery" has been featured in the series before in the title "Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance." These statements overall sound very similar to Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, as the game included both a Fantasia-themed world, as well as it being from the perspectives of both Sora and Riku. It's possible that they are confusing some elements of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance with Kingdom Hearts III. It's also possible that they are simply referring to The Mysterious Tower when they say that a Fantasia world will be in the game. We have contacted PlayStation Official Magazine UK for clarification. What are your thoughts on this Kingdom Hearts III excerpt from the January 2018 issue of PlayStation Official Magazine UK and the February 2018 issue of PlayStation Official Magazine - Australia? Do you think these statements hold any weight? Could they have had a misunderstanding or be mistaken? Let us know what you think in the comments below.- Secret Honey Kingdom Hearts parka
