Final Fantasy XVI (16) and it's DLCs have finally been completed to my liking. Mostly... this game was a fucking AMAZING* experience from start to end. It has lapped, and has mostly still lapped, EVERYTHING else I've played this year thus far up to this point. I have no complaints about the story mostly. I loved it. Not sure why people hate it. I'll admit it took a weird turn after the Titan Eikon boss fight that mostly didn't make sense but was made for. Just a bizarre choice if you ask me. Character development is great too. For all characters. Even the side ones. You just have to do ALL of the sidequests. I liked the setting honestly as sort of 'return to form' for FF. Especially considering most other ones had modern technology stuff in it. For me... I loved the fuck out of the gameplay. I just did. The most fun FF game I've played since probably 15 and honestly I liked it more than that one. My main complaint/criticism... is some of the boss fights. Particularly the ones in Rising Tide. Bahamut had an asinine timer and there's no excuse for that I'm getting sick of those. The final TWO (yes two) bosses in Rising Tide can only be described in one way. For me at least. Which is asinine ridiculous too fucking difficult bull shit. Full stop. No excuse for this period. It was made worse that it was back-to-back. Not everyone likes bull shit difficulty. It ruined the experience at the WORST time. The end of the game. Irrelevant really that the shit I got from the DLCs made me mostly squash the final boss of the main game. Because I did. There's just no excuse for this sorry just how I feel. 85-90% of the game was *FUCKING AMAZING. It was. It was just ruined by the other 10-15% of asinine ridiculous too fucking difficult bull shit. Now shit at the end of the year for me is going to be closer than it really should be. Just saying. Fans don't know shit about shit. Full stop. Personal score: 9.2/10
