    He always gets me in the DM phase. I always seem to fall to a Curse/DM combo

    If the DM is troubling you, use Donald's Comet Limit.

    It's not so much the DM as being Cursted while the DM is happening. Having half my commands locked while trying to survive is killer, especially with Magic Curse.

    It's easier for me to survive Attack Curse, but Magic Curse is easier to break out of.

    Yeah, I feel ya. :/ I just try to dodge that curse when I can.

    Problem is, I usually get Cursed while reeling from an attack that I misjudged the timing on.

    If you can't dodge, then Reflect if possible.

    See, it's not usually possible because I get Cursed while knock-back is still in effect. By the time Arial recovery ends, he's already coming down so no time for Reflega.

    Okay, I got the pattern down. if I get hit by his DM, or don't hit him fast enough, he uses three consecutive Impulse (drill) attacks and then Curse. Now I just need to get the timing down so I can block/evade every hit of his DM every time and it won't be an issue.
