We know that Mickey met Aqua in the realm of darkness (was stated in an interview if I remember and the first trailer of 2.8 and the latest one)

Ansem: That boy arrived with Keyblade in hand to save the day.

Aqua: huh? wait a sec... Is his name Terra or Ven?

I can't wait to know what happened!

Well Mickey is technically a mouse, not a boy.

Well, he did say "boy". I assume Aqua thinks Ansem could be talking about him because Ansem sounds old and Terra would be a boy to him. Besides he would probably give another discription for Mickey.

 

Maybe she just forgot. You seem to forget stuff in there so...

 

Maybe she doesn't know that Mickey managed to escape the Realm of Darkness.

 

And of course, the fact this is basically a retcon in a way.

Just because she didn't mention Mickey doesn't mean she never met him. Felixx is right. If someone said "boy" the last thing to come to my mind would be Mickey.

well the 0.2 starts before sora and the others decides to leave the island so it has been a long time and time either changes someone or makes someone forget things 

but my opinion is mickey's a mouse not a boy so he's not someone you would think of besides he looks the same even if alot of time passed and so if you know that they announced the release date please wait and thank you

I'm pretty sure that by that point Aqua saw Mickey more as an adult. Mickey's age has kind of been left ambiguous ever since his debut in Steamboat Willie, but I think it's safe to assume that he's at the very least a young adult, considering most of the wacky situations he's been in (and how rambunctious he used to be in the early days), plus you kind of have to be of a certain age to be a king anyhow. So she probably wouldn't think of Mickey as a "young boy" when Ansem mentioned one.

 

Also I'm sure that by that point Aqua had almost completely given up any hope of escaping that place, so Mickey might not have been the first thing on her mind at that time, since for all we know it felt like ages since she last saw Mickey before coming across Ansem.

Ansem: "Ikr? He's a good friend, but let me tell you something about that boy."

Aqua: "Do you think Mickey is okay?"

Well, remember, Nomura had actually wanted to conceive A Fragmentary Passage early on, but he thought he'd never get to do it, so I'm guessing that Mickey and Aqua meeting was already planned shortly after Birth By Sleep, ya know?  So I'm sure this is something that doesn't need to be delved into too much, ya know?

 

We'll know more of what happens in 0.2, ya know?

I am absolutely certain that what they say in the Japanese dub is pretty much the same with a few subtle differences here and there, but there has to be a logical explanation as to why Mickey would leave her there, and that is what we intend to find out in the game.

I thought that conversation with Ansem the Wise happened before she ran into Mickey in the RoD? Then again, time flows differently in there so not sure...  :blink:

A retcon would be new information that would change what was already established. This isn't a retcon because her not mentioning Mickey doesn't mean she didn't meet him. It's just that he's not brought up at all because Ansem never talks about him and Aqua probably wouldn't want to dwell on it if it happened recently. Like maybe she actually believes that Mickey got caught up in a huge Heartless attack.
