I get what this guy means too

I thought Riku would die in KH3, it felt like that would be the natural end of his arc

But I think they mean in the context of Just KH3

Everyone expected someone to die

Kh1 the betrayal, CoM= spent the entire game paying for it, Kh2= trying to stone for it and doesnt think hes worthy, 3D= think he wasnt worthy of being a master and yet passed. 3= noble earned sacrifice that was built up from kh1

but everyone did died the first time around

Not much led upto it within the game

riku should have died

not anything bad just it would have been impactful as hell

same with terra

Terra's the one i expected to earned a perma death to make up for all the firetruckups he did

honestly 2/3 of the bbs trio was tied to riku's arc

should have been riku

and they cheated riku out of saving aqua and terra (even tho there was foreshadowing of sora saving aqua)

Riku saving Aqua would have subverted expectations

Lol, up until the last second I didn't want to believe sora would save aqua

But we can't have surprises
