I mean,nomura ltierally says the tutorial happens later on in the game

but theres no connection between the tutorial to later in the game that we visibly see

"there are 7 hearts to save"

To be fair, you need to have a very high IQ to understand the placement of the tutorial in the story.

they cant expect the audience to remember a 15 minute tutorial 20 hours later into a game

And yet they can, in a plot centric series

If you don't remember that, well, now you do

play more JRPGS.. they incorporate gameplay and tutorials into story often

dmc 5 had a tutorial in the final boss fight

To be fair I didn't really put two and two together because I thought that the tutorial must've taken place before the start of the game... I felt very stupid when I literally had to be told that it took place in The Final World segment and that it taking place before the game began was impossible and stupid and I was a big palooka for thinking that.
