the main team seem have to stepped up massively

which is exciting

its different from the kh2 team moving onto something else

and the ambition going to handheld

I just hope MoM is the last time we ever have to see the older engine be used

Like we all know kh3 was a massive success, so please give them the goddamn budget moving forward to continue to make games that will hopefully sell somewhat nearly as well

dont think thats happening on these kind of projects

giving it a big budget is basically the opposite of its goal

a somewhat easy to make game that doesnt cost much but brings in money

the 2022 project tho should be crispy

That’s why I said moving forward

Like I totally get having smaller non numbered titles sure it’s bound to happen but I just don’t want the quality to just noticeably dip like this again

Like sure it’s okay for MoM cus the important bits are still in the new engine

It does kinda suck that they’re using older assets still... but the good thing is kairi’s memories are gonna be all in the new engine!!! It’s just... kinda weird to have both styles in the same game lol.

also California actually has a morning, today. albeit a very orange one xD

how is everyone?

better now that I’m not living in an endless night with a cast of orange xD

how about you??

stable.. so far

game use older graphics because it's on switch

well hopefully you stay stable, retro sora. ?? hope you feel better soon. ?

and ? idk if the switch is why it’s using older graphics, noleen. but it’s possible

I feel like there could be a lot of reasons why they chose to use the older assets....

to make it a short dev time too

in the end its a business and its ofc money that speaks

why try to have in on switch ? more sales

I doubt the switch is the reason why they didn't use UE4

It's most likely because it was a separate developer working on this, so it was easier to use the old engine than the new one

Osaka team did the cutscenes and stuff, and they have experience with the new engine

how i see it is "how can we make money between our two "big" projects as in kh3 and the next game without too many ressources"

This gonna be weird

> game use older graphics because it's on switch
@Noleen#7811 I mean prolly yes and no, yes because it was easier to develop it in less time this way since they want to see what the market for kh on switch is like, no because they could’ve surely optimized it down enough to get it to run on switch if something like doom is on there

Or the Witcher 3. They got that behemoth of a game on switch

Exactly

KH ain’t nowhere near the most graphically intensive thing out there rn

UE4 is amazing
