Hopefully not because this is a huge breakthrough! Plastic takes FOREVER to decompose! It would lighten the load in landfills a ton.

I mean, knock on wood it goes somewhere, but I feel like I’ve seen this type of thing before several times. Some scientists or researchers come along claiming to have finally found something that will shift the tide in our fights against pollution/human waste/climate change and then nothing ever comes of it.

I imagine a big reason for that is lack of funding as no investor is interested in something that’ll help humanity if they don’t stand to gain millions/billions in the process

It can be monetized though. It’ll save a fortune on recycling.
