No kidding, a lot of that funding could be spent elsewhere.  It's not like the US is going to get invaded. 

I guess, Disney decided to change the story of a fox that outsmarts a bunch of hounds and their human master to a lesser, obscured movie about a fox that gets raised by humans and makes friends with a dog.

Imagine that, Disney overworking their staff because the head honchos of the film had severe disagreements.

Beware at the introduction, there are some

hunters smashing in some head of some fox and her kits.

The Fox and the hound film isn't a one to one adaptation but has more than enough dramatic intrigue about the roles we're born into
