In all reality it depends on what you're going for

Usually they fit some theme of the world but then you have the few that more so match a character or theme outside of a world

Naturally they should somewhat resemble a Key but let's be real we've deviated in a handful of cases

I mean. typically there is the hilt, the blade and the teeth
