For a song to fit Sora, it must be very melodic, it must be very bouncy, which means having a 4/4 kick drum in it, and if it has triplets, then it's even better.

I think the lyrical content is more important to matching characters to songs than the instrumental

That is a completely understandable and valid perspective. Myself, I know nothing about music aside from how a song generally sounds, so lyrics are always the first thing I remember.

Sora is a very bouncy guy

There are lots of songs that are bouncy/upbeat/catchy sounding but when you actually pay attention to the lyrics the entire vibe of the song can change. Additionally, I look at music as an important storytelling medium, so if I were to attach a song to someone I’d want it to match thematically to that character. But, as Sam said, I understand how people can look at it from the complete opposite perspective and there’s nothing wrong with that. Brains are wired differently to focus in on different aspects of art.

Got one. I look at the lyrics of the song ‘Yesterday’ by Atmosphere and see a near perfect parallel with Terra, especially post-KH3, and his relationship with Master Eraqus. It’s about grief and wishing that you could make amends with someone who passed away. Namely, a father figure. I don’t really think about how the sound of the song itself meshes with the character, just the words being said. That’s the beauty of art though, we all interpret it different ways and connect to it in a way that is unique to us.

Sure it’s bouncy, but the lyrics don’t fit Sora at all.
