And it's the first worlds for Ventus and Aqua as well, so you don't have access to as many techniques or opportunities to grind as you do with Terra.

I never really had any major issue with their respective escort quests

mainky because im a filthy casual who plays kh on the easiest difficulty

I play on the hardest and never really had a problem with escorts either honestly.
