Almost all KH1 worlds felt like mazes to me

Posted

Almost all of the worlds in Kingdom Hearts 1 felt like a maze to me. Neverland felt like a maze because it felt like I was going back and forth. Traverse Town felt like a maze because there are so many different ways to get to a district. The underground part of Hollow boastion literally was a maze! In Atlantis I just kept on going in circles because it's so big and you sometimes get sucked into areas. And most importantly Monstro. I think Monstro is the most confusing world in the game. There's all those differnet ports (or whatever there called) and they'll take you anyway inside of that whale. I don't know guys what do you think?

don't forget wonderland omg

Yeah, I only thought Hollow Bastion and Atlantica felt like mazes....oh and that other world Wonderland. I can't describe what Wonderland is because it's so damn dreadful.

Monstro and Wonderland were the BIGGEST mazes in the game they were really annoying especially Monstro, I kept on falling of the edges and had to go back up again an again

Kh1 definitely wasn't as linear in terms of exploration as other games. It also had no map or way of telling you "I don't think I should go this way", and the heartless make it especially annoying because they will make you fall off in areas such as the great crest so easily.

This is what made a lot of the worlds in KH1 so great and fun to play in.

Now the areas are for the most part huge, empty rooms which are easy to navigate through. The game even gives you maps now, which isn't really needed since it's so easy find the places you're looking for.

The maze-like designed worlds of KH1, plus its platforming is one the things that made KH1 such a great game, and also a hard one. A game shouldn't be hard just because it got hard bosses. When you have areas you keep falling off of, or when you have areas which is difficult to move around in, that makes a game hard too.

It was fun to explore the worlds in KH1. Sometimes you would return to an area and notice things you hadn't seen before. Now when you have entered a room 10 seconds later you've seen everything that is to see there.

BBS was also a kind of good when it came too this, but it can't really be compered to KH1. I'm guessing Dream Drop Distance will have even more platforming and maybe maze-like worlds since it seems like while be interacting with the worlds a lot.

Yeah, I thought that Wonderland and Hollow Bastion were hard places to navigate through.

Honestly the worlds in KH1 are pretty badly designed.

Look at Traverse Town first visit; lol you have to go into every door in a certain order to progress. What? You want some sort of implication of which door to enter?

Sorry, we need to advertise 100 hours of gameplay.

Another problem with Kingdom Hearts 1 is the fact that they don't tell you how many treasueres you have or need.

It wasn't just those few worlds. I struggled with EVERY world, except Olympus Coliseum, which is just three rooms in a row.

Also, try playing some of those worlds on a TV screen that is always dark! Even Destiny Islands gave me trouble, because I couldn't see anything except the door in front of the Secret Place, Sora, and the eyes of the Heartless. It took me a full hour just to get back on the bridge and find Riku!

There's more worlds than that, trust me.

Oh, don't get me started on Wonderland.

I hate that world in every single KH game. It's so mutherfiretrucking confusing. God.

But yes, I've never played the original KH, but I can tell it's annoying.

You've never played the original Kingdom Hearts? That's sad bro :( .

Hollow Bastion annoyed me the most. And I'm such a wuss, I hated the Defenders in that place, they scared me >.< But mostly I hated the crazy amount of rooms in that place. Same thing goes for Hollow Bastion in re:coded

The Defenders looked a little bit more alive when I turned off my lights. But no there not scary.

Did anyone else think that the jungle in Tarzan's world was confusing.

I spent hours just trying to find my way around those stupid vines...

The Tarzan world is confusing. It was one of the worlds I left out. It was really hard to navagate through that world. But after all, it is Africa.

I have the same problem with a dark tv screen. It's like impossible to see where anything is!

I used to have the same problem too with a dark TV screen. I couldn't see anything. Good thing that TV blew out and we got a Plasma (later converted to LED).

I miss the mazes. Especially Hollow Bastion, my sister made me lol cuz she couldn't find the way back to the keyhole and every time she walked past the way to the room where you fight Maleficent I would say "hey try that way" and she always yells "quiet! I'm concentrating!!" lol (this is how I knew I was better at KH than her before I even played it xD)

That's funny.

what makes them harder to navigate is the amount of new growth abilitys there are and the fact that they made the characters size compaired to the world bigger, only had problems gettin through kh1 worlds cuz i played it first when i was ten way back in da past lol

Yeah they did make the characters pretty big compared to the worlds. That problem was fixed in Kingdom Hearts and beyond. Also I forgot to add Deep Jungle to that list of confusing worlds. The most confusing worlds were the big ones.

The way the worlds are set up would make me confused. When I first got the game I was young and I would easily get lost, so it took me like 150 hours to beat the game for the first time because I would get so lost.

I absolutely HATED Atlantica. It took me nearly 3 times as long to get through it. Ugh. Hated that world. The Tarzan world was a bit confusing also, but at least it was entertaining!

Yeah, I wish the maps wer emore complicated like in KH1. I never eally had a problem with getting lost, except in Monstro. Every freakin' room looked exactly the same...
