Hello guys. I've sent this first part of the story to some members here, and they liked it a lot. So, I thought it'd be better to share it with everyone. Hope you like it

 

 

 

A Frightful Prevision

 

At a night, of May 29th of the year 2049, to be exact, something strange happened. But, before discovering what occurred, it’s better to know what had been happening in some time before that day. In the next lines, you will be able to read and put your imagination to work -- or at least give it a try -- in order to understand everything that this story has to tell.

 

-> March 11th <-

 

Today was an excellent day. Why? Because I got a promotion, and the rumors of some kind of “threat” coming to earth have been almost completely destroyed.. But, there are still some people who believe that we may be in risk of facing the last days of our lives -- of the humanity.

 

There were already many people who predicted a lot of things like that, but in the end, we are still here and alive, after all. Yet again, it’s still too early to say that this prediction is completely impossible to happen... Even I, who was instructed to calm the people, and tell them not to panic, still have doubts if this is really only a false rumor, or if it’ll really happen... But I pray that it doesn’t happen.

 

However, you might be interested in knowing what that prevision has to say.. But I think it’s still to early for me to tell it.. After all, what IS supposed to happen is only in some months, so I’ll tell about it in the near future. At least I managed to accomplish my duty; the people seems to be more calm now. We just need to carry on with our normal lives, that’s it. No need to worry.

 

 

-> March 30th <-

 

It has already passed some days since I last wrote in this diary. I can’t believe I am really enjoying this -- although it was an idea of my own daughter. But, returning to the main subject, there are more and more people supporting that prediction.. My duty has become very hard, even though people do respect me. When I’m not around, many of them begin to talk about it. I have been busy during this time I was off.. Me and the other politics -- we need to make sure that the people are not attracted by that idea -- but what if, we ourselves are?

 

I am not saying I believe in it, but I can’t tell the contrary as well.. Something just tells me this is not really wrong at all. But, who knows? It might be only my imagination. Maybe I’m just getting old. With almost fifty years, it’s hard to face what I face everyday. Well, let’s stop talking about my personal life... My main goal with this is to find out more about the rumors...

 

So, as I’ve said before, many people continue to fight for these ideas... And look, we haven’t fought since 1927... And, with our own people.. Where will this world end? Can’t people have different opinions without respecting the others? Maybe this is really the end of this race -- which was once a pure and good race, in which people treated the others well, and not only worried about their interests, the money -- its name? Humanity.

 

But, if we think properly, this wouldn’t be a bad end at all.. You might be calling me a crazy or something like that, but see: We’ve killed thousands of animals, and don’t come with the argument: “we need to eat”, because in those thousands, many were only killed because men have their own interests.. They want to make new things, and don’t care with what or who they have to cross down to achieve their goals. With time, the humans have been more and more selfish.

 

I remember.. In thirty years ago, we weren’t so bad as we are today. We had water, but what have we done with it? We spent it without caring about the consequences.. And who is going to pay for that? We. It can be sooner or later, but we will end paying for what we’ve done. Nowadays, it’s very rare to find the old and good water. With the new technology, and since we don’t have the food we used to, we have to eat some strange things made by these scientists.. But I can’t badmouth them, can I? Because, if it weren’t for them, we might have met our end sooner.. In 2040, 91.56% of the entire rain forests of the world were completely destroyed, and with it, many species of animals, our natural resources... But I ask: Is this really good enough? We have to get rid of the forests to get more technology? Really?

 

My answer to this question is this : No, we shouldn’t have done that. But who am I to say this to the entire humanity? I would end up being killed by the owners of the factories and others.. But, while our great technology doesn’t build a Time Machine, we have to hang on. Do you know how we live today? Thanks to the Factories and their gases that have destroyed our Ozone Layer, we were forced to build new houses.. Ones with Oxygen. Why? Because it’s very rare to find some nowadays. The rays of the sun have turned the temperature to 58.5Cº, which makes it almost impossible to hold on that temperature for more than twenty minutes.

 

Ahhh.. If only I could go back to 2012 or 2014, when our world was so amazingly good to live.. But I can’t blame it, because it was our fault -- we were the ones who didn’t listen to what was right in front of us -- The terrible future we were creating. Those amazing campaigns for the reforestation.. Nowadays, it doesn’t exist anymore. The Humanity is too busy to think about protecting the less than 10% we still have.

 

Oh.. It’s late. 11:59p.m. I need to go sleep now. Might come back and write more in this diary in a week or so. Who knows? Maybe more and more people will continue to support that prevision. Bye for now.

 

->April 12th <-

 

I guess I haven’t had much time to write here. More than one week, eh? But don’t worry, I have a good reason for that. Nowadays, our population is around 5,000,000,000 of people. Why am I informing this, you ask? Because between this incredibly big number, 1,000,000,000 of people have just began to support the prevision! My duty has become more and more difficult with time. So, I have to spend most of the time doing it. I’m getting tired of it.

 

Besides that, do you know what’s the worst? The day of the prevision is coming. It’s in a bit more than one month. As time passes, I’m getting more and more frightened. I know nothing will happen, but still... What if this time, the prevision is right? Well, you might be curious to know what the prevision says. However, I’m afraid I don’t have a proper definition , since it’s strange, because there are subgroups. Some say that it foresees the end of the World, others say that it’s the end of our Planet, that the world is going to be rebuilt, that some other species are going to invade the Earth... That’s why it’s so hard to block its advance, since it has many currents.

 

Although the politicians don’t seem to believe in that, I’ve been told that they’re making some new vehicles, which are capable of flying without oil, and that can use its lasers to destroy anything. What they do not know is that, even I am building a new escape route, for myself and my family. But I can’t talk about it now. However, I am praying that I don’t need to eventually use it in the future.

 

Wait! What? My friends -- the other politics responsible for maintaining the peace between the people -- have just warned me that the leader of the prevision has been spotted! I’m sorry, but I need to go right now. If we kill him, we may have a chance to stop the rumors right from the source! I’ll try to report the results of the battle as soon as possible. May 10th

 

Tligh

 

Hello. It’s been a while. I’m afraid I’m not happy today. Why? Because we failed in our attempt of destroying Drak and his country. But it was so close... And there surely was something strange with him... I wonder if he has some kind of illness?

 

Well, I think you might know what happened, and so I’ll tell you. Pay attention to the next paragraphs.

 

First, as I have already told you in my last report, we were going to attack Drak on May 5th, but we had to reschedule it to the following day. So, we went there, with our forces, ready to attack any and everyone they could find there.

 

But, there were no soldiers in the borders. So, we continued to advance, and arrived in a city, very near the palace -- where again, there was not even one soldier. Even though that it was telling us that a trap was very near, we continued to proceed.

 

Then, we arrived in a place near the palace. As there are some woods surrounding it, we decided to send one of the soldiers, just to analyze the area. A few minutes after he went there, we heard a noise -- which looked like a shoot from cannon.

 

So, we went to see what had happened. There were, like 1,000 of us there. But, when we arrived and saw the body of the one who had gone before, we found out we had just fell into a carefully planned trap. From the east, there were ten or twelve cannons, ready to shoot at us. From the west, archers -- like 200 or 300 -- ready to wound us with their arrows. To the north, there was Drak, with 400 ot 500 soldiers -- which were only carrying normal soldiers, but seemed to be more trained than the archers.

 

First, our general said that we should not fear, and that we should attack, but only focusing on killing the leader. From the 1,000 of us, 500 followed his advice, and end up dying -- and only killing a very small amount of the enemies.

 

Drak then said some weird words -- which appeared to be orders for his troops. Moments after, they began to shoot at us -- and we had to flee. From the 500 of us that had remained, 250 were killed in this part. Luckily, I managed to get out from there without a scratch. But when I heard Drak speaking -- I noticed his voice was weird... He seemed to be very sick.

So, as planned, we tried to attack the Common Houses -- but Drak had already thought of that possibility too. Outside of the Houses, there were a lot of fire -- we couldn’t advance, unless we wanted to get burned up. There was nothing else we could do -- so we decided to return home -- with the only 250 of 1000 who had gone there.

 

That’s exactly what happened. I’m still thinking about Drak’s healthy -- if he were to die -- then it’d make everything easier for us.

 

I’m sorry -- it’s getting late. It was fun to tell everything about the battle. Hope you’ve enjoyed. I need to sleep. See ya.

May 12th

 

Drak

 

Hello. I’m happy to be able to write here again... For a second back there, I think I would never be able to... So, how have you been in these days? I’m not doing fine. This illness is just getting worse... I’m beginning to be afraid of what can possibly happen if my days in this planet are to meet their end...

 

So, I think you are interested in knowing what happened in these past few days... Remember when I wrote I’d call the soldier in the day after the one I had written? So, I was right. In the next day, we were attacked by the politics. I wonder what would have happened with us if I didn’t do that... Well, I must not think of What could have happened, but what Actually happened.

 

Me and some strategists had carefully planned a defense strategy, just in case the enemy decided to show up. We had installed a thousand of hidden cameras around the borders of our country...

 

The person who is responsible for staying all day watching if any enemy is coming, quickly went to my room in the palace, and told me that the enemy, which was in number, around 1,000, had just invaded our country.

 

It was the right time to put into practice the defense strategy I had planned some days ago. It included a cannon unit, an archer unit, and some soldiers. As the palace is surrounded by woods, I knew that they would just sent one to see if the area was clear or not. And I was right. We killed him with one of our cannons.

 

Obviously, the rest quickly went to us -- to see what had happened with their comrade. One of the main generals, was very stupid. He ordered the soldiers to attack us -- despite the fact that we had a cannon unit, an archer unit -- ready to shoot until the last one of them had finally closed its eyes permanently.

 

So, we killed the 500 who obeyed his command. The remaining soldiers were smarter -- they decided to flee. But even then, we managed to kill half of them. After running away, they went to the Common Houses -- but we had already planned something for there as well.

 

We carefully put flames around it -- but these flames did not enter inside the buildings. As soon as they saw it, they left running once again.

 

That’s the only good news I have for you. My condition is just getting worse and worse... I need to rest now... I actually shouldn’t be writing... See you guys soon!
