i beleave in global warming and im telling you if you lived in ireland you would to we never use to get bad flooding until three years ago when we got more rain then ever towns that shouldnt of flooded did along with a fair few villages then last year we had frost like never before everybody i knew had no water cause the bitter cold froze up all the water systems which shouldnt of been able to happen so the weather really is changing for some country's ya its glabal warming maybe but for ireland its global cooling and its causing nothing but bad

Global warming just means the warming of the earth a couple degrees. Any freak storm such as what you provided could probably be contributed to something else.

It's not a freak storm, its been snowing in Texas since 2009 (first time in over 100 years) and it's started to snow earlier and earlier everywhere else.

The earth's atmosphere is an extremely unpredictable system, and there is no "uniform" patterns in it. There can always be deviations from trends.

 

And as for the GW "debate" , I don't have any interest in pursuing this deal and instead leave that over to the folks at RationalWiki , who articulate it so much better than I could.

I was actually responding to your first post, and when I submitted it. It wasn't until after I posted that I saw that about Texas. If you are going to try to prove a highly accepted theory wrong, I would suggest you to be the one to come up with the vast amounts of specific evidence from multiple sources, because we have already done that. Also, you might save us all some time by anticipating and refuting our points.

Okay, ummm I haven't really payed attention to global warming since it was a "big deal" awhile back, but I always understood that global warming wasn't necessarily global warming in the sense that the ENTIRE world just gets warmer, but certain areas get warmer causing weather to change. Like the polar ice caps would melt, thus causing weather patterns to change across the world.

 

Personally, I don't believe in it. My high school physics teacher just said that the earth goes through phases, the ice age was his example. So it's only natural that the world got warmer and will get colder.

You are all pretty set on this so if I disagree i'm probably going to have people mad at me. Global warming is just a fancy word for the earth's crust heating and the ozone layer depleting. This happens when humans use fossil fuels, or gasoline. Fossil fuels make weather act unatural, the only thing unatural at the time that global warming was first established was the unatural heat back in 2003. In some area's such as canda it rose to about 110 degrees. So they called it global warming because in spots where it is usually cold, it was hot instead. Global warming isn't just about heating the earth, it can also do the opposite, cool it down. I live by a state close to New York, and it doesn't usually snow here until Thanksgiving. But it did snow a little last night.

I thought since the CO2 is trapping more heat, the earth is getting warmer. i thought since the Earth is getting warmer, ice caps, and water, etc is melting at a faster pace making increased precipitation.

And Canada has yet to recieve a decent (or even any) snowfall. What is this crap?

What the public needs to realise is that it doesn't matter if global warming exists or not-- we still need to cut down on pollution. No matter what the firetruck the global average temperature is doing, and who's causing it, pollution is still a bad thing, definitely caused by humans, and something we need to cut down on before it escalates into something bad. People saying "global warming is made up, therefore all efforts to help the environment are unnecessary" are dumb.
