Different Ways of Facing the Destiny

 

For generations, special people that were born with special powers, which were normally from the same family, were responsible for protecting the Nature, the Earth, and maintain the peace in this World. So far, they had been doing a great job so far.

 

The last one was Kile’s father. However, the ability of having these secret powers had to be a secret. This secret had to be kept until the special person has a son or a daughter, and so, when this child completes fourteen years, the special person before them has the obligation of telling them about everything.

 

However, Kile’s father -- a man named Joulie -- which was tall, strong, had blue eyes, and brown hair -- he had faced a big battle some years ago. He had defeated his brother -- a man named Ulises -- which was not so strong as Joulie, had blue eyes, and was shorter and younger than him. This battle had been one of the most violent of the history of the Chosen Ones -- the name given to people that are chosen to have these special powers.

 

In Joulie’s case, it was a very rare thing that had happened. Normally, only one person -- even if they have brothers or sister -- is chosen to have the special powers. But, in this case, both Ulises and Joulie were entrusted with magical powers. However, while one wanted to protect the Nature, the Earth and maintain the Peace, the other had been consumed by how strong these special powers were.

 

Ulises thought that by combining his powers with his brothers -- they both could control the World, and have everything they wanted. Money, women, and any and everything that this world could have to offer. However, as both of them had powers, the special powers were split up -- while their father had their combined power, each of them only got half of it.

 

Joulie was older, so when he completed fourteen years, his father came to inform him about everything -- the powers, the secret Kingdom of the Chosen Ones. But there was something wrong -- he had not earn all of his father’s powers. Because of that, his father thought that -- maybe, only by a small chance, like 2% -- his brother could earn the other half of powers, once he completed fourteen years.

 

And so, his idea was completely right. When Ulises completed fourteen years, he began to be able to do things that only the Chosen Ones were capable of. Ulises was very happy at first -- having these special powers were like a dream.

 

But that happiness would not last long. When Joulie completed twenty-four years, and his brother was with twenty years -- their father died because of a heart attack. Now, it was up to Ulises and Joulie to keep the peace in this World.

 

In one month, they went to the Chosen Ones’ Kingdom. Everything was so beautiful, and very calm. Joulie loved the place, but Ulises did not like as much as his brother did. For him, it was just an old and bothering place, where he would not have anything to do. And so, Ulises first raised his hands, and three monsters appeared in a forest, which was located in front of the Castle.

 

The monsters attacked the castle, but were easily and quickly destroyed by Ulises’ brother, Joulie. However, after this event, Joulie began to wonder about the monsters’ origin. If it was such a peaceful place, how did these monster appear in all of a sudden? With time, he began to join all the pieces and noticed that only magical powers could have created that. And, since his father had brought peace after defeating the King of the Darkness, and sealing him in another dimension twenty years ago, no monster had showed up ever since.

 

Ulises did not pretend anything when his brother came up asking if he had anything to do with the monsters’ appearance. He said “Yes, it was me. Just for fun, bro.”, with a smile in his face. He then decided to tell his brother about his true intentions.

 

He told him that together they could be unbeatable. They could have anything they have ever wanted in their lives. They would be feared by the entire humanity. No one would ever forget their names. His brother said that their duty was to protect the world, and not to take control over it! But Ulises kept saying that with their father dead, they had no one to force them to do anything -- they were free to do whatever they wanted with their powers.

 

Soon, a battle began between the two brothers. After one year of a long and slow conflict, Joulie finally managed to defeat his brother. He did not kill him, but made him prisoner in the castle. He left some men watching over his brother. And so, he returned to his home. With time, he met a beautiful, and shy woman, named Liliane.

 

After one year of staying together, they’ve decided to marry. One year after their marriage, they had a son. However, a very sad event happened when the baby was born. His mother had a complication during that time, and died of an illness. Joulie remained very sad, but he knew that he had a baby to create. His sadness never abandoned him, and it had passed over thirteen years now.

 

In one year, his son would finally complete fourteen years. Many surprises were awaiting for him. Joulie always ensured to make him follow his orders -- in a way of preventing that he could become something like Ulises once he found out about his special powers.

 

In one month, he would make fourteen years. How would Joulie tell his son about his magical powers, about his past, the Kingdom, and about everything? Would he have enough courage to tell him about everything, without hiding anything? And what about Ulises, what has happened with him during these years? Find the answer in the next chapter! Chapter 2 - A New World

 

The day which Zack would finally enter in the Kingdom of the Chosen Ones was finally here. He could not wait to see how it was. But his father said they would only ago after 2:00p.m.

 

Before that hour came, Zack stood imagining how it would be. He thought about fighting strange creatures, rescuing beautiful princesses, but the reality was very different from his fantasy.

 

It was finally 2:00p.m. Then, the boy asked his father about how would they do to get here. His father just said “Put your hands on mine”. And then, he said some weird words in another language, and when the boy looked again, they were in a black corridor, and in the end of the corridor, there was a white big door.

 

“We need to go that way.” the father instructed him to go to the door.

 

In less than five minutes, they were near the door. Then, Joulie asked Zack to get back a little, because he was going to open the door. The boy went back and heard some strange words coming from his father’s mouth, who was with his eyes closed.

 

“Shinkyut Oliching Munkyturew”, he said.

 

In seconds, the big door began to open, and revealed a beautiful forest, and Zack’s eyes could see the Castle, which was far away from there.

 

“You’ll need to pay attention to the words in the next time... You’ll be the next one to do all of this, you know?”, his father said. “Now, let’s get our legs walking so we can arrive in the castle before the night comes.”

 

And so, both of them began to walk. Zack was looking closely to all areas of the forest as they were heading to the Castle. Strangely, and differently from what he had imagined, there were no monsters nor dragons in the forest. It was a very quiet and peaceful place. There were only some strange animals -- like mixtures of animals from the humans’ world. But they appeared to be inoffensive.

 

Zack did not want to bother his father with questions -- at least not until they managed to arrive in the castle. Still in the forest, Zack saw some beautiful and different threes ; some had blue leafs, other had some flowers in the shape of a heart. To someone new to this place, everything would seem incredibly beautiful and admirable. But Zack did not have that option about the Kingdom of the Chosen Ones.

 

After several hours of walking, they finally arrived in the Castle. It was like the Castle of the movies at Zack’s eyes. Big, beautiful, but strangely, there was no one around. The Castle was just like the forest -- very quiet. Joulie showed his room to Zack, who had finally found something that was like what he had been expecting.

 

It had a big bed, a restroom inside the room, a big sword in the wall, and some medieval things. Everything was clean -- it looked like someone had gone there just to clean it. But now was the time for questions.

 

“Father, where is my room?”, Zack asked.

“Oh, you need to go to the second floor -- it’s the first one... The door’s already opened, I’m sure you won’t have trouble to find it... Can you go first? I will follow you in a few minutes, okay?”, Joulie asked.

“Yes, it’s fine. I’m going then.”, Zack said this as he began to run towards the second floor.

 

His father was happy, because at least at his eyes, Zack had liked the Kingdom. However, as Zack was climbing the stairs, he thought to himself:

 

“What a bothering place. It isn’t as I’ve imagined... Where are the monsters, the dragons? I’m not sure if I’ll be able to stand this “peace” for much longer... At least I hope my room is cool...”

Interesting, I wonder what Zack going to do now.

Chapter 3 - A Bad Signal

 

Disappointed, Zack finally arrived in his room. It was bigger than the room he had in this house in the Humans’ World, and there was a bed, a restroom, some books, and a photo of his father with another man. Zack did not know who this man was. In reality, this room was Ulises’ old room.

 

Suddenly, some minutes after looking at the photo, Zack began to hear a strange voice -- it seemed to be his father voice, but it was not.

 

“Free.... Me....”, the voice said.

 

At first, Zack was afraid, but then he turned to be happy -- finally, something happened to break the peace of that bothering World. Then, the voice tried to say more things, but Joulie arrived in his son’s new room, and so the voice stopped.

 

“So, Zack, what did you think of the room?”, Joulie asked.

“It’s.... relaxing...”, Zack replied.

“It sure is... Well, aren’t you hungry? We should go eat something. Our dear cook is very silent... That’s why we could not hear when she was making some food for us...”, he said.

“Okay, dad. I’ll be going in a minute... You can go ahead.”, Zack replied.

“Sure. See you soon.”, Joulie said.

 

When Zack saw that his father had gone to the kitchen, which was located in the first floor, he tried to speak with the voice again.

 

“Are you still here?”, Zack asked.

“Yes, I’m always here... But when Joulie is around... I can’t do anything...”, the voice replied.

“Why?”, Zack asked.

“I cannot tell you...”, after saying this, the voice disappeared once again.

 

Then, Zack headed to the kitchen. The cook was an old woman, which had apparently seventy-five years, had a short white hair, blue eyes, and was wearing normal clothes -- and Zack stood wondering why she was not wearing an uniform.

 

“Zack, this is Rita. She is our cook here... She’s been with me since I was sixteen... She is part of our family.”, Joulie said.

“Oh that’s nice. Nice to meet you, Rita. My name is Zack.”, Zack pretended to be happy with meeting that old woman.

“So, what do you two want?”, she asked.

“Well... I want some fried mushrooms... and to drink, just a bottle of water.”, Joulie said.

“And you, little boy?”, Rita asked.

“Hm... The same he asked.”, Zack replied.

“Okay. I’ll bring it to your room in a few minutes.”, Rita said.

“To my room, okay? Zack will be there with me.”, Joulie said.

 

Then, Zack headed back to his father’s room. There, he could not hold his curiosity any longer. He asked who was that man in the photo he saw in his room.

 

“What? You---you wan--t to know who that i---s?”, Joulie replied.

“Yes, that’s it. Is it there any problem with that, dad?”, Zack asked.

“No... But first, let’s eat... Rita will be bringing the food soon...”, Joulie replied.

Chapter 3.2 - Lies

 

Some minutes after Joulie said that he was going to wait Rita to tell his son about the guy in the photo, Rita arrived with the food.

 

“Here it is. Now, I’m going back to the kitchen. May you enjoy this food,” she said.

“So... Dad, can you tell me now who is that guy in the picture?,” Zack asked.

“Well -- it’s.... it’s... my best friend ---- Vulis ----- who died a while ago. We took that photo years ago, and I like to keep it there to remember him... but I’ll get it and put it in my room,” he replied.

“Wait... Does that mean that your friend could also come to the Kingdom of the Chosen Ones?,” Zack asked.

“No... that photo was taken in the Humans’ world,” he replied.

“Oh Okay,” Zack said this with a way that seemed like he did not believe in the story told by his father.

“Aren’t you going to eat, my son?” he said.

“Oh, yes. Actually, are these things good?” Zack asked.

“I like them a lot. But you need to eat one to know if you like it or not.” he replied.

“Fine... I’m gonna try one.” he said before picking a mushroom and starting to eat it.

“How is it?” his father asked.

“It’s good. It’s not as bad as I thought.” Zack replied.

 

After eating, Joulie returned to his room, and decided to let his son alone , resting from the long trip, as Zack had told him. But, in reality, Zack only wanted to make contact with the voice once again.

 

“Are you here?”, Zack said.

“Yes... go to the basement... and we will.... be able... to talk more...”, said the voice.

 

After hearing that, Zack noticed that the voice was no longer around. Then, he decided to go to the basement, just as the voice had suggested him to. To get to the basement, however, he had to pass through the kitchen, where Rita saw him, and asked him where he was going.

 

“I’m -- I’m -- going to take.... aro...und the castle...,” he replied.

 

Rita stood very suspicious of him, and so she decided to go to Joulie’s room, to warn him that his son was heading for the basement.

 

“I saw Zack going to the basement... He even lied to me... saying that he’d go to take around the castle.” she said.

“Hm... That’s truly strange. I wonder what made him want to go there... No --- it couldn’t have been...,” he said.

“Could not have been what?,” Rita asked.

“I have to hurry. If I’m late, then no one knows what might happen to this place, and to the entire world,” he replied.

this story is intresting, lol seriously is it his first time eating a mushroom?

The voice is making his/her play. I fear Joulie will not make it in time.
