terra if you watch the extra cutscenes from kh2 fm it shows xemnas talking to aquas armor in the chamber of sleep and refering to it as his "old friend" then another cutscene shows organization members talking about how xemnas spent hours talking to his "old friend" and how they thought the reason he wanted to find the chamber of awakening so bad was to find his " other old friend" and that sounds more like terra than xehanort and a nobody is the body of the dead person and wouldn't the body used to make xemnas be terras.

Well frankly, from all the different cases that are going on in KH, it really varies.

 

From the evidence that Nomura described about a part of Terra left behind in Riku, it's assumed that Terra's heart is inside Riku, along with Eraqus' since it cletched to Terra's basically. MX's heart, being in Riku's body with the other hearts, was kicked out when the Kingdom Hearts Encoder exploded.

 

So MX is mostly likely going to join with Terra's body and soul once Xemnas was destroyed, to form what would the return of Xehanort. At first it would seem that it would make Apprentice Xehanort. But because Terra's heart is not in his own body, a new appearance is most likely going to be to made. If you haven't know, the heart seems to help change the appearance of someone in a body. When it's in its original body, obviously it's going to be original form. When it is in another body with another heart, if it's dormant or does not try to take over, the other person looks the same. But if the heart tries to take over, then the appearance of the other person alters and begins to have similar characteristics of the original person. And if a heart enters a body without a heart, like a Nobody, then the heartless body will change its appearance to of the original person. Examples are:

 

Heart dormant - Sora + Kairi's/Ventus' Heart = Still the same Sora

Heart trying to take over - Terra + MX's Heart = Terranort, Terra with MX's Heart influencing his appearance (white hair, darker skin, golden eyes)

Hearts in a Nobody - Roxas + Ventus' Heart = Ventus, still the nobody of Sora, but has the appearance of Ventus

 

So if MX's Heart goes with Terra's body and soul, then it will most likely take the appearence of the old Master Xehanort. But there is a chance that it might be his younger version since he is in a younger body, but that is yet to be explained.

 

In general, it all comes down to anything. It can be either MX or the younger version.

In order for MX to see his agend through, he needed a new vessel so that he could live long enough to see it through, thus realizing that Terra fit the bill. By getting Terra to use/succumb into darknees, MX would be able to transfer his heart into Terra, since MX used darkness himself, and thus being able to live longer. After the body stealing process was done, he became the the same Xehanort that became the apprentice to Ansem the Wise, aka Terranort & Apprentice Xehanort. (Same person) Apprentice Xehanort lost his memory due to the fight with Terra's armor, which was able to move and fight due to Terra's memories.

 

Apprentice Xehanort studied under Ansem the Wise to research hearts, heart of all worlds, etc. While ignoring Ansem the Wise's orders to stop the research on the heart Apprentice Xehanort continued the research which resulted in him becoming Ansem Seeker of Darkness and Xemnas. This resulted by Apprentice Xehanort willingly giving himself into the darkness which in turn resulted in both Ansem Seeker of Darkness (Heartless) and Xemnas (Nobody).

 

To the best of my knowledge both Ansem SoD and Xemnas brought back MX, or at the very least some variation of him. My guess is Apprentice Xehanort, mostly since I believe that this form of Xehanort is needed to free Terra from MX hold on him in terms of controlling his body.

Other than some variation of Xehanort being Sora's enemy, the only reason I can think of the two of them being connected is when Riku was possessed by Ansem SoD and then later Riku used Ansem SoD for his powers of darkness. That and the incidents Ven went through in BBS, since Ven's heart is inside of Sora.

I agree What you said is fascinating When the Unknown speaks to Riku about his (the latter's) darkness, does that imply there is a dark nature to the Unknown?
