Which KH game is the longest? The shortest?

Posted

My friend and I are playing the games for the first time (I've watched walkthroughs, she's new to the series), and we'd both like to know which games are longer or shorter, especially in comparison to KH1.

Jut to be clear, the ones we're playing are:

NA release of KH1

NA release of Re:Chain of Memories (PS2)

NA Release of KH2

NA Release of 358/2 Days

NA release of Birth By Sleep

NA release of Re:Coded (DS)

No final mixes or anything like that...

Are any of them longer than KH1? Which takes the longest amount of time? The shortest? (FYI, we're probably NOT going to go for 100% completion)

kh1 and Re com are both pretty long but it also depends on how fast you are at playing the game KH days isnt long just tedious re coded feels long because of how boring it is but it isnt bbs u can easily finish 1 characters story in a few hours kh2 is so routine for most it can be beat pretty quickly

Hm...well coded would be the shortest. And the longest...hm...I would say KH1 feels like the longest because of how difficult it is and because you can't skip cutscenes. But KH2 is probably longer because of the second visits.

recoded doesnt take long, nuff said.

358/2 days is easy gameplay except hard bosses.

kh2 has a lot of cutscenes but you can make up for it in fast gameplay.

bbs is long if you want to do all three characters.

I'm not sure about re:com because i havent played it yet, but it must be hard getting used to the card system.

kh1 has long unskippable cutscenes, tricky puzzles, and hard bosses.

all in all: kh1 is longest, recoded is shortest.

I am going to say KH2 b/c of the stupid BS they have u doing during the first part of the game (sry T_T Maleficent's 'revenge' plan had NOTHING to do with the overall plot and had no reason to be there).

or maybe kh2 is longer. idk, i beat kh2 before kh1 and i had kh1 since i was 3 :P

The only one that I felt was the shortest was re:coded despite me having over 100 hours of gameplay on that one...but what would I know? This is coming from the person who likes to spend as much time as possible on her KH games.

No but I felt Re: Coded was the shortest because it felt like just a review of what already happened in past games :0

Almost all of them are at least 25+ hours

KH1 is pretty much like KH2 except less help, so it is harder.

I think Re:Chain takes the longest because it takes a lot of skill.

KH2 should take the shortest, since it has reaction commands and is less challenging.

Birth By Sleep is about 10 hrs per character and the beginning can get draggy for each character.

Re:Coded is a very welcoming and easy game. I think you won't get bored with it.

358/2 Days are just a whole bunch of missions which can get boring. I suggest playing straight through the game and doing the extra missions later unless you can stand doing extra missions.

Although, Riku's story is somewhat refreshing in Re:CoM, but gets old quick.

Out of all the final bosses:

Hardest to Easiest:

Marluxia (Re:CoM)

Ansem: SoD (Re:CoM)

Terranort (Using Terra from BbS)

Vanitas (Using Ven from

Vanitas (Using Aqua with the help of Mickey from BbS)

Xion (Days)

Xemnas (KH2)

Ansem: SoD (KH1)

Terranort (Using Aqua from BbS)

Roxas (Re:Coded)

So to Recap

Shortest to Longest

Re:Coded

Birth by Sleep

Kingdom Hearts 2

Kingdom Hearts 1

358/2 Days

Re:Chain of Memories

Beginning:

Draggiest to Fastest:

KH2

Re:CoM

Days

BbS

Re:Coded

KH1

i think it ties between kh2 and re:com since re:com is not difficult its just so tedious with all the rooms and stuff and kh2 is just long due to cutscenes and second visits...but the shortest is definitely re:coded.

That depends, are you just finishing the story or completing the game in its entirety?

KH2/CoM/BBS In that order imo, coded seemed shortest, primarily cause its the easiest game to level up in, if you know the system.

Story.

I think BBS holds the record for being the longest game in the series, and Re:coded the shortest!

BBS is probably one of the fastest games to finish

Story.

Re:Chain of Memories is the longest I've played at ~60 Hours.( And yes that's to JUST clear the story.) I don't remember the other ones very clearly. I think it was BBS (~37 hours)>KHII (~26 hours)>/=KH (I don't remember that much about the first one admittedly)

I just gave up a 3rd of the way through on the other two games since I found them boring with no sign of picking up.

KH1 is pretty short imo.... except for the cutscenes you can't skip. KH2 is pretty long but the cutscenes are skip-able ( I would recommend skipping most of them since a lot are really unnecessary. Days is pretty short but it's not welcoming since it's way different from the other games since it's so tedious. I think BBS is pretty short too. I don't have much of an opinion on Coded or COM because I haven't played them/ seen walkthroughs of them.

I think BBS holds the record for being the longest game in the series, and Re:coded the shortest!

I finished BBS in a week....I finished the whole game in a week O-O

The rest took longer...except Re:Coded, I finished that in a week as well.

I've never played COM or Re-Coded so I can't say anything about those. However it's like this for the others, going from shortest to longest.

1)358/2 Days

2) KH

3)KH 2- if on beginner mode, won't really take that long at all.

4)BBS - If on beginner mode, will probably really fast. No real need to train. I played starting on proud and it took a while but wasn't that long. On the other hand, beginner means a lot more strength for the player and significantly less damage. If you want blank points though, you should do it on proud mode though.

Be sure that Re:Coded is DEFINITELY the shortest. The only game I have left to play is BBS, but I'd say it does take quite some time to finish. But still I think, either Re:CoM or BbS for the longest game. KH2 appears to be long because of the worlds and second visits, but it's not so difficult.

KH2 and BBS are probably the longest

Shortest that I have played is KH358/2

KH2 is easily the longest, I have no idea what anybody else is thinking here. KH2 is very compatible with speed runs, yes, but a regular playthrough (Completing all the worlds, of course) is rather long, between the double visits to each world (Plus like a billion visits to Hollow Bastion and twilight Town) and the very long cutscenes, it's easily the lengthiest game.

I mean, if you know what you're doing, KH2 can be beaten in a flash, and in that case I'd say KH1 gets the honour of longest game, because you can't skip any cutscenes.

But yeah, KH2 definitely has the most stuff tog get through. Kinda a shame that the games have been getting progressively smaller with each game after...

I have no idea when it comes to 100 percenting though... getting 100% in most KH games is all luck based. Getting rare cards and drops and whatnot...

Hm...well coded would be the shortest. And the longest...hm...I would say KH1 feels like the longest because of how difficult it is and because you can't skip cutscenes. But KH2 is probably longer because of the second visits.

Those cut scenes racked up my game play a good 6 hours! I swear!!!! That--and I got lost in Wonderland for ages....

But to answer the question:

Coded seemed to be the shortest. Closely followed by Days.

As for the longest, Re;CoM seemed really long to me, because you have to do both Sora's story and Riku's story. It took a while, it felt like.
